See that Korey Smith's loan has ended. What do you think the future holds for him? I thought he was impressive for us in league 1 but he has now had two substantial loans - Barnsley and Yeovil. I cannot see who he would replace in the current squad unless he has progressed in the West Country. I think therefore another loan, in the Championship if possible, and then bring him back for pre-season training in the Summer. That would be the time to assess if he has a future with us. Or do you think he has come as far as he can with us and time for him to move on?
When you see the players who can't get in the starting line up at the moment then I'm afraid Korey isn't even going to be required for the bench. Would love to have seen one or more of that crop of youngsters really make it and even become our first £10M sale but it isn't going to happen.
Sadly, time to move him on ..... and Lapps ....... and Adeyemi ...... and Chrissy ......... and Ward ........ Frees up wages just in case we do make a bid for CMS, Biglia, Bridcutt, Uncle Tom Cobleigh .......
I think if he wants first team football, he needs to move on, same sentiments as above. even some of the players who played regularly last season can't make the bench now (e.g surman (althoguh he has been injured wasn't featuring before)). unfortunately i cant see korey getting any better than he is now. harsh reality of the premier league.
Whilst it's nice to have youth coming through, we hardly have an old squad as it is. He's probably a tidy signing for a league 1 team, but I don't think he's going to be playing first team football at Carrow Road, even in cup football (unless it's with the away team!)
I think he has plenty of time on his side to make it as a very decent central midfielder and so i think at a young age staying here will only damage what could be a decent career and so should move on, would like to see him get a move to a decent side in the championship and hopefully make his way up
I watched him when Crawley played Swindon..he looked an average league 1 player. I thought he would stand out, but no, made the occasional run from the middle and gave the ball away more than won it. Future is away from Carrow Rd, and certainly away from the Prem and possibly Championship..unless he wants to join the binners.
He wouldn't have to be that brilliant to shine against Crawley, the way they have been playing lately. Do you ever drink in the Swan - lovely basic friendly local. It's where my Son in Law takes me - dragging and screaming of course - when I visit Crawley.
It's not quite a spit and sawdust pub, but it certainly has some colorful characters.. Only been in there once, ended up in a punch up, so not been back. And yes, they've certainly gone off the boil since end of October..
He is a damn good championship player we should cash in He here he's there he's every f"""ing where Korey Smith!
