Live link to SSN Thats the rumour... http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/68515/1/watch-skysportsnews.html
the big moment of the week so far was at 12 minutes past 8 last night 20.12 on 20.12 in 2012 Now stand by for Jonny LA to pop in and tell me it was 20.12 on 12.20 in 2012 and thats not remarkable at all I can't answer all the questions, but on our Saviour, he started off well, partly for not being Ridsdale. I think he miscalculated, possibly he did not choose the best managers to get us to the Prem, and I think he thought he could run a tight ship, still get us to the Prem and then cash in - before now. It wasn't until about 2 years ago that the obvious failure to invest (disinvestment, more like) switched me off him. Don't like his "personal style|" either, but I could have lived with that. The words "Don't expect us to be a Chelsea or a Man City, but sufficient funds will be made available to ensure we can strengthen our squad " do bother me. I have managed to ignore this for all the years of the Bates era, but I think it will bother me when it mstarts to become evident only clubs in very special circumstances can hope to reach the very top. But, still a problem I don't need to worry about.
can't use sound at work, can someone give us the gist of anything important, like - for example - "£100m available to spend on the team in January"
Fascinating. Has Messi accepted our offer of £50 a month plus all the Sam Smiths he can drink & all the pies he can eat??? No, oh well, I await developments with interest.
Brn Law asking why did take over take so long. Patel sidestepped the qestion, saying number of clubs looked at. Also investment must be sustainable
LOL Sky News are ****ers, 5 minutes in and the break away from the conference before any real questions are asked. Haigh did stress the point that GFH Capital are owned by a bank which is listed on four stock exchanges and that transparency will be clear regarding who directors are and what is going on. Business model is not based on being in Premier league (they want promotion but not going to throw silly money at it). Warnock has publically made it clear what he wants in January they will do their best to achieve that. Patel did say January not the best time to buy players we are lucky that we have a fairly good squad already. So far saying all the things we want them to say, guess it is a time of wait and see, proof is in the pudding
Seems all fair enough so far. We had enough of throwing silly money around. We've also had enough of minimal investment in the team. So a happy medium learning towards a bit more on the playing side will suffice for now.
So does anyone know what they actually brought for £52million? - Did they get the ground or Thorpe Arch, the Radio Station are they pressing ahead with Kens building plans and if so will the club own the finish build????
Half-Season Tickets Launched. Just a shame about the prices. http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20121221/half-season-tickets-launched_2247585_3016260 Now why didn't I think of that?
No U21 price except for students in the sitting-only Family Stand? **** that. Probably do five or six aways and three or four home games instead of bothering with a half ST now I've seen they're just continuing the Bates policy (understandable as it is for the rest of the season so current STHs aren't ripped off). Could have been more creative though and introduced new price brackets and perhaps Half STs in the South Stand.
I'm very disappointed about the half season prices. The prices should have been reduced. There was an opportunity for a show of good faith from the new board. They failed at the first hurdle, I'm afraid. This is Bates by another name. They could have issued credit against next season's tickets for current season ticket holders as compensation for lower prices, OR AT THE VERY LEAST APOLOGISED FOR THE CONTINUED HIGH PRICING AND STATED THAT THEY WILL BE LOWER NEXT SEASON. Sadly, their first major announcement is a very worrying shot over our bows re. the future of LUFC pricing. The future is not bright. What will announcement #2 be? Who will they be selling in January?
Pricing the half season tickets at proportionally less than the season tickets already sold would just be ****ing over ST holders. Wait and see what happens with ticket pricing next season.
When are renewal prices for season tickets released? That will be a big indicator. I also hope they don't have to be paid by the end January for the biggest discount like last season (far too early)!
Can see your point but if ever there is a good time to make wholesale changes it is the day new owners step in. I am sure the St holders would have been okay and seen it as an attempt to create an atmosphere for the remainder of the season.
