Derby County vs Hull City 21st December, 2012 Pride Park, Derby Derby County The Rams are the epitome of inconsistency this Season. Sitting, quite understandably, in mid-table, Derby can't seem to string a good enough run of decent results to really put pressure on the Play off Pack. With 3 wins in their last 6, which also consists of 2 losses and a draw, Derby don't look to be in the best of form. However, 2 of them wins were their last 2 games, where they saw off Leeds United 3-1 and Bristol city 2-0, so they'll be looking to string together 3 wins in a row for the first time this Season. The last time they lost, was a 4-1 paggering at the hands of local rivals Leicester at the King Power Stadium. There are certainly a lot of danger within Clough's Derby County, such as Theo Robinson, Connor Sammon and the young star attracting Premier League attention; 17 Year old, Will Hughes and only the most resilient of defences can keep a Clean sheet against this well-organised Derby outfit. Hull City View attachment 19804 7 wins out of 10 for Steve Bruce's Hull City, and 4 wins out of 6. The Tigers gained 2 very well earned wins away from home at both Nottingham Forest and Watford, and followed up with a rather comfortable win at the Circle against Yorkshire Rivals Huddersfield. A rather ugly incident involving Alex Bruce and Alan Lee means that Bruce will miss this match as they both serve a ban. The Tigers look to make it 4 wins in a row and are really beginning to pile pressure on the automatic spots, and with games against Leicester, Leeds and Blackpool also to come up, the Festive/New Year period will prove be crucial. The unexpected recall of David Stockdale by Fulham means there's a air of uncertainty as to whether Eldin Jakupovic will get a chance to play a League match, or whether Ben Amos will be brought back from the Wilderness to return to first team action. Amber's Magic Prediction Derby are a very hard side to beat at Pride Park and they certainly have some pure talent within their ranks. With City's momentum and desire to be a top 4 side come January, I believe we'll repeat last Season's triumph and come away 0-2. Derby County 3-1 Hull City I think they'll absolutely ****ing batter us. We're a bit thin on the ground in terms of defensive players, and they've lost just once at home in the league. Then again, Scunthorpe - ****ing Scunthorpe! - hit them for five at their place back in August.
I have a bad feeling on this one, think they will win. Won't be the end of the world, the odd loss helps people keep their feet on the ground.
Derby have a number of injuries, doubts and Salmon is one of them. Bryson and Will Hughes are 2 more and they already have a few missing. So Derby wont be anywhere near at full strength or fitness for this game. The pitch is normally very good for football and i expect Hull City to tear the Rams apart actually. 3-0 win and able to coast home with much harder games to come. Joint top spot with Cardiff until 3pm saturday at least,, imo
Tough game this one, has a Watford feel to it by going to an in form side but we managed to go there and get 3 points. Derby are a decent side but I can't understand this fear from some people that we're gonna go there and get turned over. If we were on a bad run of form fair enough, but we're better than that, especially at the moment. I see no reason why we can't do the same as we did at Watford. Derby 0-1 Hull.
I'd take a draw from this one but as I'm looking at the whole week I'm thinking along the lines of 7 points from the next 3. Realistically if we are to have a chance of going up this year then these are the games that we are going to have to get something from. However, as has been said, Watford was a tough game & we did them comfortably in the end, so why not Derby too.
Great match preview as always. I don't usually make predictions but think that this will end up a low scoring draw so either 0-0 or 1-1. However, saying that with yet another change of goalkeeper and the possibility of Amos returning or Jakupovic playing his first game, this may well unsettle the defence but hopefully won't. I'll be very happy with a point but ecstatic with a win.
Another great preview. We're usually Derby's bogey team at Pride Park and they may have lost one at home, but haven't they drawn a lot at home too? We hardly ever do draws so really, I think we can win this one. 1-0.
Phil Buckingham on Twitter said McShane has trained today, Bruce hasn't made a decision whose starting in goal at Derby and Aluko's still out.
I'm kinda glad Aluko is getting a rest. At the beginning of the season SB always used to say "Well he's been playing with an injury." If a player is injured, then they should be rested or it could exacerbate the injury further. Isn't that what happened with Garcia/***an when we were in the PL? Whoever it was had the injury but they kept playing him and it turned out even worse. Think the same happened to Hunt - although they said they were waiting to see if he needed surgery.
I expect FAYE to replace Bruce @ Derby. After what has happened to Matty Fryatt its no wonder that Aluko will be given time.
