I agree. And I'm more concerned that a major Club will be in for Adel in January than him going to Africa for a few games. His performances now will be attracting the ManU's of this world, very unfortunately even if they pay us tens of millions I want to see him playing for us.

Diakite has stated he will not go? If this is the case I can see him playing the Taarabt role in the hole and I think he will be very effective.

AT is obliged to stay in order to help his Club which is paying his wages deserving some sacrifice off of him. He is a Young lad gifted with some outstanding skills which QPR currently needs a lot. The Coach asked him to stay so he should think for a minute and pay back to the fans who kept backing him when he was playing some awful Football.

If that does happen Ellers, I'm not sure how its a bad thing. If the new player holds down his place when Taarabt returns, wouldn't that mean that he's doing well and we've got a good player on our hands?

Hes just said that he just signed a 4 year deal and he loves the club and the fans. I think thats the 1st time hes committed so saying he wants to say so now is the least likely time to leave as I think he realises he can be a top player at QPR or a bit part player at a top team.

    Country first.

    No contest really.

It also might not be QPR who lose Adel to the Acon in January!

Let's hope for an early Moroccan exit and that he is still wearing our blue hoops come February.

I hope so mate, but as I recall he also said something about if a £ 20 million bid come in.... I just doubt that if for instance ManUre come in with a bid a lot bigger than that and offer Adel a good deal, that either the Club or Adel are going to say no. If he goes on as he is now, a really huge offer seems quite likely to me.

Funny thing is, I don't think its really his Country! He sounds awfully Gallic to me?!!

Next they'll be telling us Tony Cascarino is Irish!

The thing is with this club or country thing..... When English, Irish, Scottish or whatever players have to choose between club or country, the games are arranged as to not directly affect games. Whereas the acon is scheduled to involve players during the season. That is the difference. The Rooney argument does not stand in this regard. The acon is wrongly arranged and is a pointless tournament anyway. Our players should put club before country every time under these circumstances.

Ouch Nines! If there's any African guys on here they might disagree with ya on that one! Actually, didn't a chap from Uganda or somewhere start posting on here recently?

My argument is this. All the Clubs knew at the start of the season that the ACON was happening this year. It was therefore incumbent upon our Manager at that time to have all scenarios covered when the tournament comes around. I've no sympathy for Clubs moaning that they're losing this player or that player in January. They should have thought about that pre-season.

Don't worry anyway Nines. Harry will bring in a couple of new faces in January to bolster things up.

I agree with you entirely swords. We should only have one African player in the 25. That would give us the edge. I also wouldn't sign any Muslim players for a similar reason. ( Maybe. One, max. ) for nutritional reasons during Ramadam. I'm pretty sure that with all the sports nutritional science that is involved in the game nowadays that fasting must have a detrimental effect on physiology. Forgive me if I am wrong. That is not meant as a racist comment. Just an educated assumption.

Hmm while you think it's pointless doesn't mean it is them. I don't know about the arrangement but there may be a weather\league type arrangement not certain.

Good post, Nines. My position too, but we're in a minority. No problem with ACON if it's once every four years and carefully arranged. Two tournaments in two years is too much to be reasonable.

I'm quite taken aback at that post to be honest. I fail to see how you can deduce racist sentiments from my post. And what has this got to do with Muslims? I never even mentioned them.

So to be clear on this: You say the ACON is a Mickey Mouse tournament and that players shouldn't go near it yet I'm the one being racist?

Nines I think you've slid down that fire-pole once too often my friend. Its made you dizzy!
