For the home team the season is over, with no chance of making the playoffs the pressure in this game is going to be with the New York Jets and in particular Mark Sanchez. And here is why: please log in to view this image The Jets are in the hunt for a wild card ticket, with a 6-7 record this season they are two games behind the Cincinnati Bengals(8-6) so the goal is set: this is a must win for the jets. A loss means that they are out of contention for the wild card. but if that ain't enough for Mark Sanchez, look who's back: Tim Tebow! Recovered from a fractured rib team coach Ryan told the media yesterday Tebow is fit to play tonight. Sanchez himself has some injury issues aswell, he was placed on the injury list with a lower back problem this week but was able to do full practise last week. With Tebow back active will manager Rex Ryan activate the 'Wildcat' package again? So far that tactic hasn't been much effective and relieving Sanchez of his duties two weeks ago for McElroy, who won the game for the Jets against the Cardinals, might be an indication that Sanchez might be playing his last games for the Jets. please log in to view this image The managers room of the Titans is probably one place you don't want to be in for this season. Things are looking bleak for the Titans, with a 4-9 record this season is one to forget. A bottle of Jack will do the trick, no doubt(Got one in the room here and noticed that it says Tennesse sour mash whiskey). Maybe it's just one of those days.. erm seasons that all the pieces aren't falling into place because a couple of them are missing. Or maybe I'm just puzzled by this: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000111256/article/chris-johnson-of-titans-wears-helmet-talking-with-reporters Either this season has been pronounced dead for the Titans before it even started, or they are just not putting much effort in it. Personally, I can't tell to be honest. But what is interesting for the Titans offense is the new play caller Dowell Loggains. He replaces Chris Palmer this week who was fired as Offensive coordinator. Injury list: Jets: TE Dustin Keller is doubtfull with an ankle injury DT Sione Po'uha is questionable for tonight with back problems And Clyde Gates is also questionable with a concussion Titans: Tight End Jared Cook is out with a shoulder injury Colin McCarthy, Titans Linebacker is out with a concussion WR Damian Williams has a hamstring injury and is out for tonight And Scott Solomon(DE) is out with a knee injury So let's hope for a fun match, else it's... please log in to view this image
I was tempted to stay up and watch at least the first half, but it's Sanchez and there's more chance of me winning the lottery than him producing a decent game.. Jets must win or its goodbye playoffs
Jets lose 10-14 and our out of contention. Mark Sanchez threw 4 interceptions and can surely pack his bags with Rex Ryan or Tannenbaum to follow shortly. I went painting a fence btw, was way more fun than the game...
Alex Smith to the Jets? They could do a lot worse... actually, they currently are with their QBs in Dirty Sanchez and Tiny Tim! Think Rex may get one more year but the GM may have started packing!
Well i needed cheering up this morning and watching the highlights of this game gave me a few laughs! Comical at times! Especially the last minute or so!
I did not find any part of Mark Sanchez's play amusing. His time is OVER. Time to move on and get a game manager in there. I'm older than the club and have never seen a starting QB with such lack of vision of the field. Tim Tebow's isn't a viable alternative anymore. His confidence is shot. It was apparent in this one series under Center. The local media and fans say it is poor play from the Offensive Line. I don't really agree. When Sanchez had time, he was inaccurate with his passes. One interception was a great diving play. The other interceptions were thrown right at the Titans. If you are going to point fingers, why not the selection of plays? If you can't go down field, why not five yard slants and hook patterns from the WRs to have the DBs adjust coverage?
Well now that they're out, I'd say: start Tebow for the next two games and find out if he can step up to the plate and leave an impression before the seasons ends! If it doesn't pan out, well, they can always go for Smith, Cousins or trade tebow and sanchez up for a higher draft pick.
I think they'd start Tebow to put him in the "Shop Window", sort of saying to the other teams.. "Look's he's actually OK, want to give us some draft picks for him???" If they get rid of Sanchez, does anything think they'll get anything better than a 3rd pick (if that)? QPR NY will know better but the Jets don't just need a QB, they need some more weapons on Offence, their Defence, is still one of the best in the league and they should have Revis back next year too!
Seahawks Wilson and Eagles Foles were both third round picks, Redskins Cousins a 4th rounder, Alfred Morris a 6th round pick for the Redskins. All they need is a better scouting team!
My point exactly, they won't be getting a high/early round draft pick for either of these QBs, even teams like the Jags and Cards aren't that desperate.. are they?
Yes, yes they are. I can see the Cardinals taking Sanchez or Tebow. And don't rule out the Chargers yet, Philip Rivers is done in San Diego.
This is an excellent thread Cove. We could promote stuff like this as articles which can be seen by a wider web audience. I am friends with the article editor on the Southampton forum. He can do that for us no problem.
Watched the game, wasn't a memorable one but oh well. For me the Jets need to cut their losses (literally and figuratively), start Tebow in the last two games, then get rid of him and Sanchez picking up any possible draft picks they can as a bonus. In FA go after Alex Smith, Greg Jennings and any other WRs that hit the market if Welker, Wallace or Bowe slip through the franchise tags or don't get their contracts. Freeney wouldn't go amiss either to help their pass rush, but you can only spend so much. Then pick up a GM who can actually draft well, and rebuild with some fresh talent. Their drafting in recent years has been atrocious. Simple!
Hi every one , I'm new on here just had to post this, I backed the jets at plus 1.5 on the spread, 1 minute and 45 seconds jets run to field goal position , Sanchez cannot throw for the life of him , t They are losing 14- 10 ' he throws for a touch down guess what interception ! 50 seconds to go titans punt from there own goal kicker slices to 30 yard mark, another life line I tell myself , field goal and I'm home , oh no not the jets fumble the ball back to the titans!!!
Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your stay here! And yes, a massive cock-up by Sanchez and his offensive line, just holding on to the ball is hard enough for Sanchez, let alone to throw it to a WR or TE...
