Come on all you blues fans who were at the match. Just how good was it? Could it have been 6-1 but for Southend's goalie? How bad was their pink outfit? Even if you are pissed out of your brains just tell us how it was. Can't wait to read the reports. Not so long ago I didn't think we could do it but those results against Bury and Crewe gave us the belief so badly needed. Being wrong can be such a good feeling. WELL DONE YOU BLUES. Ainsworth is a legend; he's our Simon Garner.
I'm so excited I can't stay away. Well done Rocky for correctly predicting the score. You must have been confident once Southend had got their one.
It was fantastic Ron! A bit of a nervy start and going behind early would have made a lot of previous Wycombe teams crumble, but not this lot. We came roaring back and once we got in front we never looked like losing it. Every single player put a shift in today, it was more about giving it 100% than being pretty but they did both. Very proud and happy, I'm off into Wycombe for a lot of drinks and I'll hopefully see plenty of other pissed Chairboys around too. Cheers everyone!!
Ron, you missed an awesome day. Met rocky and a few of the lads at 10am so u can imagine we were up for it. Thoroughly deserved win today and league 1 here we come. Shame for the shrews, but I wish them all the best for the play offs
Fantastic! Everyone played 100%, the team were defensively sound and carried a potent attacking threat. It took a goal from Southend to get us going, but there was no doubt about it after Donnelly's goal. (Sign him up). Great result and bring on next season.
Ron sending blues euphoria to france. Any other chairboys in wyc me and rick are ending up in o'neils!!!!
quality day out all round the team did us proud and the fans were good as well , great night on the piss met up with a few chairboys fans in butlers then a few more in oneills but i ended up losing 1887till i die in the pub but that was about 1230 ish i think ,dont remember much after that but i woke up in my bed this morning so i found my way home somehow and no hangover this morning suprisingly after copious amounts of alcohol celebrating our promotion.well done to the blues and looking forward to next season already.
Rocky that lack of hangover might be cos you're still pissed mate! I am elated, it's a great day for us all. See you in Monkey Hanger Land and Carlisle!
One of the best days in my 10 years as a Wycombe supporter probably. Perfect way to get promotion really.
Great day Ron, head still hurts ! Looking forward to some great games next year and some excellent derbies (Brentford, MK) A word for Anthony Grant who I thought was class by not celebrating Southend's first goal . Enjoy the summer
I was thinking the same about Grant. Not just his celebration but I thought he was brilliant yesterday and would gladly have him back with us.
here is a link to my player of the year poll http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/45187-League-2-Player-Of-The-Year-End-Of-Season-Choice This is the one for league 2
Pretty much the perfect day really - think it is at last starting to sink in a little Poor first 20 minutes, deserved to be behind. Well done to grant who was almost apologetic after scoring Swift comeback, good break from Lewis set up Donnelly and a goalkeeping error gave Ben a simple chance. Adams Park by that point was rocking! Ainsworth's experience is such a benefit. His standing ovation was very moving, every WW supporter rising together. He & Bull are already Wycombe legends as far as I am concerned And after his personal tragedy this season how lovely for Rendell to get the clincher in front of a packed out terrace. A good-natured pitch invasion with the stewards letting it happen, but everyone sensible and well behaved enough to get off after a while allowing the excellent lap of honour. Perfect end to a successful, enjoyable season. I have really felt connected to this squad, they are likeable characters and hopefully we can give League One a better go this time
i blame paul sturrock for wearing a kilt, all the southend player were concentrating on what he was or was not wearing underneath. totally lost them the game. but well done wobblers. think of us by the seaside next saturday and the following friday. the gulls manager paul buckle could wear a kilt!
