I was there for that goal against Preston! Lucky me Tough competiton, love the one where he nutmegs the overrated and overpriced Joe Allen too, sheer class. But I'd like to nominate one where his assist "made" the goal. I was lucky enough to be there for that one too, sat right above Adel on the upper tier of the SA stand. Magic. A special mention should go to Wayne Routledge for putting it away with great composure
I was there also right in front of me in fact This was World Class regardless of team or opposition as I posted this clip a few days ago. Anyone who kick a ball with the outside of the foot with little or no back lift like this? ... not many. Think of it as a golf shot and watch the movement afterwards. I will come back with my favourite goal later
Definitely not many, Adel is one of a kind and we should cherish the time he's with us. Everytime I watch us play and especially live there is only one name I look out for on the teamsheet and that is Adel, when he doesn't start to say I'm disaponted is an understatement. Andy Townsend said in the PL studio after Adel's wondergoal that if it was scored by Rooney or Van Persie that everyone would go crazy about it, but since it was only little 'ol Taarabt and QPR it didn't and wouldn't get the recognition it deserves. He asked the others "have you seen anyone else make or try to make a shoot like that in the Prem this season?" "No."
I think his best goal is the one he scored again Cardiff at LR in the season we went up the keeper didn't even know he had shot till it hit the net.
Great post. As you say we really should cherish such a player as they don't turn up at LR that often. Up there in the top three greats of my lifetime with only RM and SB still ahead of him.
I would have to say Adel Taarabt has scored the best goals i have seen live my favourite: West Brom away this year ... under the radar because of the Taarabt / Hughes haters ... top draw even made the pass look good ... it wasn't You can't blame the defenders just sheer class with the football its on QPR player.
All 3 against Cardiff in the promotion year, are faves of mine, cos of their importance. But I'll go for the home one, special goal, did myself a mischief when that went in!
Agree entirely. We really should cherish his time with us - to be honest I am far more concerned that he'll be leaving us for ManU, Arsenal, PSG or others in January, than I am about him missing a few games in Africa. His performance Saturday was exceptional and on the back of some very good ones this season as a whole - he won't be going unnoticed. Did you see that long QPR focus on the PL channel yesterday - I wrote on another thread that it was the best PR I seen on us in years.
Would be sad to see him go but so long as it isn't to Chelsea can't begrudge him if he so. When our greats move on the respect remains as it does to this day for Marsh and Les Ferdinand. Would imagine he would prefer to move to France or possibly Arsenal if Wenger is still there.
Best goals are still to come.........Jesus Christ how cheesy is that? Profound and sincere apologies. His next move will be fascinating. Harold, to his great credit, knows that to get the full effect Adel needs to be played classic number 10, attacking midfield, and the ball channeled to him, in other words set the team up around him. Will any of the really big clubs take this kind of risk, make him the centre of their strategy? Probably, if he continues playing like he did last Saturday. Champions League Prem, La Liga or Serie A clubs only need apply, I'll be very disappointed to see him go anywhere but to a top club, but I suppose PSG must be in the running.
Almost forgot about that one in all the mayhem that went on here at that time, fantasticly taken goal. What about the one against Wet Spam? Incredible stuff. And the Arsenal goal last season. He don't do regular goals our Adel
Not trying to open up the old debate Swords, but who do you look forward to seeing play in the Hoops? Honest question.
How divorced are you actually from the club?. I should come over and drive you back to see him in the flesh mate ... We haven't had a better player at QPR not that should bother you ... You support Liverpool
What a great thread. Great to look back at some of these goals - brilliant memories! There are so many to choose from - for skill it is the Swansea one, but for sheer meaning its got to be the Cardiff at home one - or even his first v them away. 1 min 15 in for the goal:
Honestly we all have to salute this player don't we? You put together a montage of his goals He is simply world class ... How some of our own fans can't see this is beyond me.
