Going. The only long term alternative is breaking the pay structure to accommodate 1 person, using the extra money that could fund the wages of future Carr "finds". Great for team morale, not. High hopes for Cisse to regain the form of last year.

Reckon he'll stay. Too much of a risk for most financially to take him on, what with his wage demands and dicky knee.

He'll go and we'll get Artem Milevskyi, who will be a better foil for Cisse. Playing Ba and Cisse is pointless, going for the same balls, same runs - it's why Beardsley and Cole worked, Shearer and Bellamy - even McGhee and Quinn - one to do the work, one to do the finishing. Milevskiy is a target man, an unselfish target man who would allow Cisse to make runs and find space.

Football is clearly about money for Ba so if he can find someone stupid enough to pay him 90k a week for being in the treatment room with a dislocated knee cap then good luck to him - it's going to happen sooner or later...

I don't honestly think that Pardew should try to fit Ba & Cisse into the same team - they are both central strikers so they should only be played there.

We've had enough fixtures to rotate them and even if we've got a single game in a week, then one starts and one sits on the bench.

He's tried to please them both but has not succeeded, Ba will go and then Cisse will get injured!!! <yikes>

This is my biggest fear right now, that he will stay, not necessarily because he wants too, but simply because no one comes in for him. He's stuck with us and we are stuck with him and Cisse, which blatantly does not work.
That for me is the ultimate nightmare.

Think he'll go, though think if he goes we will see Cisse suddenly perform better if he does leave, especially if we were to sign Remy.

The odd thing about Ba is if you ask any hammer where he was best, it was on the inside left. Same at the Toon last year. So yes he has done well up top on his own, that's not where he should be playing.

Agree, if he does end up staying, either by choice or lack of interest from elsewhere, he needs to go back on the left pronto, wether he likes it or not.

People tend to quote "conventional wisdom" that he's not happy playing on the left (to the point of holding the club to ransom especially)... But there's no proof he's kicked up a fuss at all, and added to that is the fact he was doing all sorts last year to try and re-capture his scoring form. Tends to make me think he didn't think position was the real reason he wasn't scoring. Personally, I really wish we could bring in a player to get the best out of both Cisse and Ba at the same time (as well as a CB and wing back of course!), and that might mean 4-3-3.

The contract issues have credence, and to an extent I can understand that, and I'd let him leave if he wants more money. Like others say, no point breaking the structure for him. I'll be incredibly grateful for what he's done for us, no matter what happens <ok>

So much this. Sign a left forward like Ince and put Ba and Cisse into competition with each other. We have to accept at some stage we are going to always need two top class goalscorers and learn to rotate them like all the top 6 clubs do.

Lets give it a bit more context instead of picking and choosing bits though. "We have to accept at some stage we are going to always need two top class goalscorers and learn to rotate them like all the top 6 clubs do." was the bit you chose to leave out for some reason...........

So I have agreed we should retain both because you need plenty of options. We should. They can play together if Ba would play left, it was proven last season. He doesn't want to, there is little point in forcing the issue. Two different points.

    Ah HA!!!!!
