Blackpool manager Michael Appleton has confirmed there have been talks with other clubs regarding Tom Ince, but there have been no bids for the winger.

    Taken from Skysports...

Ince has scored 13 goals in the Championship this season and has been linked with a January return to former club Liverpool, while Manchester United have also been reported as admirers of the 20-year-old.

Appleton has praised the way the England Under-21 international has handled the speculation and insists no figures have been discussed amid reports a bid of £7million will tempt Blackpool into selling.

"There have been no bids as far as I'm aware," said Appleton. "I think there have been conversations with a couple of clubs and the chairman, but nothing concrete.

"No-one has come in yet and set the marker in terms of a price.

"To be fair to Tom, he's put it all to one side. He's just got on with his game and not let it affect him.

"He just has to keep on playing well for Blackpool. If he's got anything about him, he'll keep playing well and scoring for us.

"It's only fair for him and everyone else that he ignores the speculation.

"If the worst did happen in January, and we did lose Tom, then we have to make sure we have replacements ready. They will have to fill some very big shoes."

I would sincerely hope we are one of the clubs to have had initial discussions as I rate this lad highly....

I reckon you have as much a chance of signing him as we do. None.
He's off to a big club. My money's on Liverpool, if only to see them eat humble pie in spending millions on him soon after they sold him for peanuts.

I think his dad will have an influence on where he moves and it wont be to us. My money's on Man U or Liverpool.

Paul Ince will know better than most though that a lot of players can lose their way with so called big clubs as they don't play regularly.
Ince has only come to prominence at Blackpool because Holloway played him regularly and allowed him to develop.

We also know that players can have their head's turned when a big club come in. I rate Ince and he looks a great prospect but I just dont see him coming to us.

I've made no secret of my desire to see him here for 2 years now. I think he is a fantastic prospect in a much need area for us. The problem will come in the form of us being able to persuade him that he is better off here than at a big club. The reality is though I think Man U would seem the most likely destination all things considered. His dads history there, CL football to increase his international ambitions, the impending sale of Nani and Fergusons record of looking after and developing young players all would suggest if they want him, they'll have him.

I do think it may be a mistake for him because now is not the time for him to spend any time on the bench. He isn't realistically going to dislodge Young, Valencia, Cleverley or Rooney. I think he would have to wait his turn unless Fergie has gone off Young?

Liverpool are constantly mentioned but although he fits Rodgers philosophy I think it will be a case of once bitten twice shy for Ince himself.

    7m is a bargain.

As Tom is at Blackpool any NW club in the Premier who comes in for him will be miles in front of the opposition as he wouldn't need to up sticks etc. We have no chance.

For the fees quoted I think we would be best looking elsewhere! He seems to be a good player with bags of potential but we have a squad of potential, we need quality to come straight in no matter what Slimey Del Boy thinks

Man Utd surely won't be gambling on him, they have players who can play on the wing who are much better. Why would Liverpool make such a pathetic U-turn unless they have a buy-back clause? Why would Newcastle use 7 million pounds unless he has a french umlaut over the O? :emoticon-0112-wonde

Championship players are way over-priced, and it's always relegation/mid-table fodder with a certain kind of manager/finances who buy such players. We are relegation/mid-table fodder, but we don't have the manager/finances. I'd suggest the following as the most likely destinations, if he does move:
    West Ham
    Sunderland
    QPR
    Wigan

I think he's a good player, but I don't think he'll move to a top 4 club, or even Liverpool, they had enough Ince types in their academy to cut his first time. He won't be coming to us though, and to be honest I only see departures in January. All very depressing really. I wish Katmandu was here to lighten the mood!

Just the same as Zaha really, I can't see Ince or Phillips ever being in the sights of top clubs until they've played for a mid-table/relegation ****ter. Then if they impressed there, Chelsea/Man Citeh will buy him for the champs league/premier league quota values and they'll mostly rot on the bench, just like Sinclair, Sturridge, Moses et al.

I think you might be under estimating him guys. Be a top 4 player within 2 years. Its an Ashley Young type scenario.

Didn't he spend ages with a mid-table Villa and relegation fodder Watford before going to Man Utd? <whistle>

Like I say, I think he's good, but I don't think he'll play for a top four club at his peak. Foreign wingers with Spanish sounding names are just better, and they tend to command similar transfer fees to anyone young and English <laugh>...

He did and that is the hope I'm clinging to!! These mounting rumours about Man U are looking ominous. I honestly think it would be a bad move for him, he'll go straight to the bench. But yeah get a fancy foreign name in, its much more fun, not least for our chants!! <laugh>

Can you imagine chanting, "If Sócrates Brasileiro Sampaio de Souza Vieira de Oliveira" scores we're on the pitch?

Ince look good but you pay through the nose for English 'talent' and its not what we've been looking to do for some time. I just don't see it happening.
