reminds me more of HH, good in the air but not a natural goalscorer I still think he would benefit the squad at the minute
Apparently he wants to play regularly and it is not happening at Stoke, I think a loan until the end of the season would suit us both. Prefer him to Anelka, 3 goals in the Chinese League in a year doesn't fill me with confidence. Also what Anelka's wages would be is another worry.
I don't he will get quick goals for us as he appears to be a player that needs to settle and needs games, so for that reason I'm out
If you think Cisse is lazy then you've seen nothing yet if we sign Jones. People think he's decent because he hit some form about three years ago.
A few months ago I'd have said yes. Most of my working colleagues are Mackems. One of them told me recently that he was great for them - full of running and quite useful in the air and on the ground until Cisse joined. He then learned lazy, sulky ways from our one and only himself. No way should the pair of them be together in the same team. TBF he has probably done a bit of growing up since then and Pulis will have made it clear that he has to earn his spot at Stoke. But he shiould certainly not be our one CF playing alongside Cisse. If Taarabt and Faulrin continue to be picked, it would be nice to have two forwards making runs into space for incisive through balls and stretching the oppo defence. From what I was told there isa risk we would have two sulkers where we most need them.
Anelka may have calmed down but he's still trouble imho. Great player in his prime though. Harry won't sign him but Jones could be decent, I'd take him before Crouch, could be good for knockdowns for Cisse and advancing midfielders.
He would be able to compare fashion notes with Cissé? This is back in his Sunderland days - is that Anton with him? please log in to view this image
Are you picking up on the Mackem vibe Yorkshire? My mate, a 30 year plus season ticket holder, has them at a very low ebb, says even if they stay up several of his mates won't be renewing their STs next year, not enjoying the MON style at all. Taarbs' show at the weekend certainly has them talking though.
If there is a job interview, this is how it might go: Do you have a hard work-ethic? No. Are you living off former glories from 3 years ago? Yes. What positive attribute will you bring to the dressing room? *shurgs* I guess I'm not as bad as Barton. Is your current employer desperate to be rid of you? Yes. Will you be willing to accept a huge pay-check? Yes. When can you start?! I'm being slightly OTT to make a point, but I really hope we don't get him. Would so much rather see some young blood from the Championship. As much as it's a bitter pill to swallow. Naarwich have really proven that as a more effective transfer policy than our one!
...and 16 months! Not what we need at the moment. Crouch on the other hand, now that would be a signing I'd love to see.
That is certainly true. They were very despondent when we played them at the Stadium of Light and a few boos rang out at the end. They did n't think much of us because we were so toothless that night. However most football fans up here talk about Adel Taarabt in glowing terms all the time which is surprising given the fact that the TV pundits rarely give him a good write up.
