If you start with very little it doesn't take much to improve on it; but I would have to strongly disagree. The side of 1993 was immeasurably superior, more balanced and more exciting to watch than the current crop.
The only two town players you commented on were young players with a promising future, Butters is very much in the same category as this. This is not a wind up, i would have no problem shipping someone like Lappin or Ward over to Ipswich for some game time and it may improve your chances this season.

Grant Holt might not be getting any younger, but he would walk into any Championship team and a handful of Premier League teams.
i would agree with this to be fair. we have more strength in depth now but that's just how the games gone - everyone has more strength in depth as more players are needed! the 93 side were just as gung ho as the lambert teams but overall they were a better team. this side isn't bad though and is very young, still time to get better and better.
