Chelsea are playing now, can't get their wished-for flight back, and won't arrive in Heathrow until Tuesday afternoon. Long flight, jet-lag, and then as soon as they arrive, they travel to Leeds for their Wednesday evening match. Even those that have not played in Japan but went on the trip will be tired. It's going to be interesting. As long as our boys are up for it - and there is certainly no reason why not - we have a real opportunity of progressing. Come on Chelsea - get an equaliser in this game and take it to extra-time (not even sure if they have that in this competition, but I hope so)
Was thinking this too. There again, if we start feeling like they're there for the taking it might change the dynamic of the game. Just have a feeling the attendance and a bit of needle between the fans will create a better atmosphere than of late, and we can have one of those odd excellent games as vs. Everton.
We will be shattered. Demoralised. Jet lagged. I'm really worried about this. With the atmosphere that there will be at Elland Road... I honestly think you will beat us and it pains me to say it. Anyway I will go to Elland Road hopeful... I'm gutted at the moment...
You can tell Chelsea haven't played Leeds for a while when their fans think they'll be an atmosphere at Elland Road Bates sold that when he took over
So you don't think a sold out Elland Road from the home and away fans on a Wednesday evening kick off between two huge rivals will provide an atmosphere? Good one...
He's right that the atmosphere at elland road isn't what it once was, but for the visit of chelsea there will be an exception
You with your travelling army of fans yeh right, you do make me laugh with your attempt at humour, keep trying and maybe only maybe we will let you come out of the closet as a leeds fan, you little jester you.........
Leeds away on a midweek evening isn't one for the plastics... it will be 3000 'proper' Chelsea fans... myself included. I'm looking forward to it
A fresh Chelsea versus a fresh Leeds you'd have to think Chelsea would win easily. However.... On the performance against Corinthians you have to think we have a chance. Warnock and the squad will have watched and seen that Chelsea don't perform well when closed down quickly. If we can dig out our "cup performance" the one that dealt with Everton we could be in with a shout. Still, whatever the outcome it will be nice to see Elland Road packed again.
The exception is when Millwall visit, and flood our otherwise empty stands with both their supporters
Interesting all this talk of lack of atmosphere at Elland road. It's everywhere these days. Watching Spurs game at present and until spurs scored in 75th minute there might as well have been ten people in the ground. Not a sound for almost full game, pathetic for supposedly best league in the world. League with most plastic supporters more like
Wasn't sure what a ban in the WCC applied to, but apparently Cahill will now be suspended for the game too. Perfect storm..
Chickens and counting come to mind pal, we are on a hiding to nothing, if they beat us well it's Chelsea, if we win they were tired from there exertions at the cwc, personally I hope we beat boro on Saturday 3 points keeps us in touch.
Would you seriously give a ****? I wouldnt. We'd be in the SFs with a serious shot of Wembley! you'd get over it. Besides with the billions (nearlyy ) that theyve spent they should have a good enough squad to rest those who need it and still win. as for the atmospheres dying out. thats modern football for you. itll only get worse unless fans as a whole choose to do something about it
Lads in the SE corner and SSU need to be in top form on Wednesday. Bring your darts for when Ashley Cole steps up to take a corner.
