I've seen and read a fair bit about these people. I suspect they will just die out due to a lack of followers. They are essentially one extended family, and the high priest [for want of a better term] is ancient. His daughter's children are all becoming disillusioned by it all, although the mother seems to be the main torch bearer/publicist these days.

What's even sadder is how they brain wash their own children so the circle goes around again.

Why do they apparently worship a God who is as evil as they are? If he existed, I would suggest they are worshipping the devil.

There's many different ways you can interpret the bible. They interpret it in a very bad way.

Half of these guys probably choose to forget about some of the things that the bible condones, such as selling your daughter to be a servant or sex slave.

I'm all for free speech, but these guys need to be sectioned. Someone will probably shoot them one day. The mother is one of the most poisonous harridans on the face of the earth.

The Bible says not to shave (Leviticus 21:5: They shall not make bald patches on their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuts on their body) but none of them have beards?

The Old Testament was written over a period of time a long time ago...and you would have to be seriousy weird not to be selective in what you believe in that. I have always been surprised by how modern the attitude of Jesus appears in the New Testament even after numerous rewrites by various churches with different agendas. I'm pretty certain that he would have very little in common with these people...they have obviously overlooked the bits about forgiveness and tolerance.

You can't pick and choose what rules from the Bible you follow to suit your own agendas.

You can choose the bits that are required in order to lead a decent life. Though many people can work that out for themselves. The Bible is a long narrative by various people over a long period of time...not all will have equal validity. You would end up schizophrenic if you tried to act upon everything in the Bible as many pieces are contradictory as needs at the time they were written changed.

Well blow me down, I just heard a new chant that isn't one of the current 3 tunes in circulation.

    He's Popov the Albion man
    He lives in a caravan,
He looks like a killer and he hates the Villa,
It's Popov the Albion man! Woo woo!

They worship the vengeful god of the Old Testament.

By the way, if you are a practising Catholic, strictly, you can't pick and choose what to believe in the Bible. It's all or nothing. If you're pretty loose with your Catholicism, then you can get away with accepting the Father, Son and Holy Ghost as being real and one and the same thing.

Yeah, it's a toughie to get your head around, which is an example of why organised religion is dying a death. Let's face it, it was a guide for the immoral and uneducated, over 2000 years ago. Its own morals and education is outdated, although being kind, caring, considerate and respectful to one another is a lesson we seem to need to re-learn every day. But you can do that without the incense, the housemaid's knee and the flowing robes.

The Mayan calendar ends on the 21st of this year. There were no more after that. Apparently the world ends [yawn]. We'll see the Second Coming first [well, perhaps not]. However, the Druid calendar would mark the date, of the 21st [or whatever it was before the Gregorian calendar] when they would assemble at Stonehenge and other places of Sun God worship to usher in the following year. So far they haven't been wrong. They've even got it right when occasionally, it was December the 22nd that was the shortest day. I'll go with their knowledge. They've been around long enough to know what the time is.

Looking forward to the day after the 21st.
