I was asked this on another forum yesterday so I thought I would ask a more sensible bunch there thoughts. By Febuary 2014 MoN will of had 3 more transfer windows while incharge of our club, personally I think thats a good timescale for the manager, he will of had enough time to ship out the players he regards as not being good enough and will have enough time to bring in the quality to get us to wer he wants us and playing the way he wants. From your point of view wer do you rekon we will be in terms of our football team and from our current squad who do you still think will be in MoN's plans by then? I am sure there will be a few of us still on here come then so we will see if we are further forward than what we expect. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMO I think by then MoN will of been very busy and there will be a completely different look to the squad than there is at the current moment. I personally think that if MoN could of brought in more quality in the summer then he would of and after the start we have had he will of lost faith in a good few players and want us out of this mess as soon as possible if that means one last summer overhaul to get us were we want to be (from the clubs point of view not the fans) then I think it may well be needed. We need to see more pace and power in the defence, more creativity and power in the midfield and a couple of more options in the more advanced areas. As for were I want us to be as a club by then then I would say 1 transfer window off being a side of similar quality to MoN's Villa side and it being the start of Sunderland cementing themselves as a top 8-10 premier league side.
I would still say he has only had 2. he was only in the job a few weeks when the 1st one came along, hard to ask any chairman for 20 million then, I do think he could have done more in the summer on bodies, but he did spend £22million so it "should" have been enough. Its this January though, I love and hate this window, teams will take our ****ing eyes out, and everyone waits till the last bloody minute and if we need to sell to buy we could be even worse off than we are now, look at the toon with Carrol, they couldnt replace him, same thing may happen with us (not that we have anyone worth £35million but then neither was Carrol I suppose.) But the excitement of the window is great for us mere mortals. Actually have we got anyone we could sell for a reasonable amount of cash to help him, Mig/Sess maybe but those are 2 I dont want to go, other than that I am not so sure, and asking Short for £40+ million in 1 season ((if you include the summer) may be too much to ask him) especially if he isnt getting anything back. ah 2014 i read 2013 lol top 10 in the PL at least.
Fighting it out at the wrong end of the PL again having just suffered a moral sapping 4-0 defeat at Watford.
Hopefully a squad of decent players instead of average ones, with more youngsters being giving a chance and coming through the academy. Hopefully these guys will not be at the club, although it is harsh admittedly. Bramble Vaughan McFadden Campbell Saha McClean
All except mclean for me mate, he's got alot to learn, but does have real talent imho, it must be nurtured
comfortably in champions league spot. then by may we finish 14th having not picked up a single point the entire rest of the season.
Not so sure myself, the lad has one trick and that's to get on his left foot at all costs and deliver a cross. Plus his decision making is very poor. If we had an offer of 4-5m I'd happily accept.
which means we wont be anywhere near Man U have an income of over 300 million, us about 80 million, we cant spend all of that obviously with debt and wages and 1000 other things, but they still have a whole lot more to spend than we do. If it was just on income I would say we were 11th or about that.
Steves right it will tie the hands of most clubs except the filthy rich, however Ellis will get one of his good lads on to it.
