Its certainly not Tom's day, but maybe Dick and Harry's (well, lets hope not - keep the Hoops down I say)

Now that's a thought. Tom's day is on the 18th. Then I officially become an older bastard than I am now. I hope everybody has a good Tom's day.

Have also heard that we are in talks concerning a loan spell for Villa. Again, it is from a credible (in my opinion) source.

It would be incredible for us if he did come here for however long it may be, and why is it so outrageous? We are a Premier League team who have a similar style to Barcelona (and before anyone jumps on me - no, I am not saying we are anywhere near as good as Barca) - and he would be playing against some of the best players in Europe in an intense and competitive league.

When I first heard the rumour a few weeks ago I was as sceptical as the next man, but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes and, as I said at the beginning of this post, the fact that talks have taken place has been confirmed by a source that I trust.

Whether it happens or not, only time will tell; but Spanish coach del Bosque is coming over to have a look at Michu for the Spanish national team so why not?

We need to realise that we are not a little Championship team anymore; our reputation is growing all the time and, in football, things like this do happen!

As I've said before this idea of Villa on loan for 6 months is not that crazy if you consider a few thinks. Barcelona under Villanova is playing a more direct kind of football with more counter-attacks compared to Barcelona under Guardiola. That is similar to the changes Swansea is undergoing under Laudrup compared to last year. So it makes good sense that Swansea is at least considered.

Furthermore, what other Prem club with the desired play style can guarantee a starting spot every game from the get go?

And there's the other factors such as the spanish armada in Swansea and the Laudrup factor etc.

    This can defiantly happen.

Cast your minds back a few months please.

Remember Cesc Fabregas tweeting how impressed he and the Barcelona players were watching the Swans play, I think it was the West Ham game but I'm not sure.

My point is that we aren't a lower league club anymore and people are taking notice. We all know that we're not in the same class as Barca but at least we try to play like them. Now if you were the manager of Barcelona and you wanted one of your top players to get back to full match fitness and were going to send them in loan then which club would you send them to ?

Probably not anyone else in La Liga so the Premier League is a possibility. So who in that league would you chose? Stoke probably not, QPR not in a month of Sundays, Swansea ? Well you never know.

I think it's highly unlikely because someone like Man City or Chelsea would jump at the chance of getting Villa even on a 6 month loan deal

How about David Villa for Liverpool? Blarney Rodgers is now aiming at 2nd place, only 11 points off now (i.e. 50 % of their points total). Honestly the man is a ludicrous joke!!!

I think thats what attracted Blarney Boy to Liverpool in the first place. FSG told him this season would get messy but he misheard.

The big picture is that if you do sign him your world reputation would double even if he isn't match fit...for the shirt sales alone would da great acquisition!!! But would the area of Swansea appeal to him?! he might just have to get a place in Cardiff to stay :D

In all honesty I hope this happens if your board pulls out the cash from there back pocket there's no reason why you can't finish in the top 6!

All the best for the weekend!
