From Pires to Gervinho, how on earth did this happen? And then some wonder why there's so much anger and frustration?

If it was up to me, I'd start playing Rosicky again on the left wing, which is where he was regularly playing for us in 2008 before his long layoff. Have Rosicky as left winger, and Walcott-Chamberlain as right wingers, with Giroud or Podolski up front, and the midfield trio of Arteta, Wilshere, and Cazorla.

Gervinho should never play for us again. Podolski is not working out at all on the left wing, let's see how he fairs in the CF role.

It looked as if Pod and Gerv were rotating a lot today. Pod was just as anonymous in the CF position as he was on the left. I don't think we can expect Pod to work any harder in the middle. Giroud has done well for me, we need him and Theo back asap.

If we can get a regular attack of this:

    ----Wilshere----Arteta----
    Walcott--Rosicky--Cazorla
    ---------Giroud-----------

We shouldn't have any problems and I can see us 3rd in no time. However, when these players are out, we look to Gervinho, Ramsey, Coquelin, and Oxo.... and then we're fked. Oxo is not a bad player, just he's been crap all season.

Ramsey and Gervinho, in anyone's book, were very poor last night. No other manager in the top 6 (maybe even top 10) would put up with such dross for so long. If we hadn't given them and the other useless articles at the club ludicrously high wages it would be easier to get shot of the wasters!!! Seriously, Gervinho wasn't just the worst player in our team, he was one of the worst players on the pitch!!! We need to make a bold, brave decision and sign some real quality to replace them and make it clear to the dross that they will not be in the squad any longer. If they had any self respect or dignity this would result in most of them handing in transfer requests which should be eagerly accepted. The whole atmosphere at the club needs a long overdue overhaul and in it's place we need an atmosphere of discipline, respect, pride and accountability.

Just watched that miss again, bloody hell! Why did he use his left foot? No killer instinct. And this is Wenger's idea of a striker?

if you showed up at 42nd minute fresh from your bed and even that's debatable, you probably wouldn't have been able to even get into that position running hard for 40 minutes in a Cup match.

I understand Arsenal didn't work hard but stick to the topic, some of you say some amazing things at times.

I still think Gervihno HAS what it takes. The thing is when he gets to that final ball, the splitting pass, the finale, etc... he loses his composure. HE always gets in good positions but his decision making at the final moment is what kills it and that's why he 's so frustrating.

People said the same thing about Walcott for years, but he's come good (most of the time)

If Gervinho can sort out his final ball, then he will become a top player.

Where have you been all day?

Gervinho will be gone by the team Henry's with us, he's off to the ACN.

They'll still play together and train together at some point.

Gervinho is being rated on one or two misses per game. We simply are not generating enough good chances right now. RVP misses plenty, it's just he got plenty too.

Theo was a kid and thus was still learning, Gervinho is 25 years old, so what's his excuse for his lack of composure and rubbish decision making?

Fair point. I just think that if he can sort out this part of his game, then he has enough to become a really dangerous player.

I have never seen Walcott play as badly as Gervinho, even when we first bought him.

At least Walcott only gave the ball away 9 times out of 10

Yeah, but how long are you going to give him to sort this out? If we want to compete for the big trophies, we can't have players like this trying to sort out some basic flaws in their game. I can accept it if he was some kid with raw ability, but Gervinho is meant to be a player who is quickly approaching the peak of his career.

If we get Henry in, then i would have him working closely with Gervinho. He has some very good attributes for a forward, he just needs to be fine tuned. Maybe with some guidance from Henry he could improve?
