bloody hell lmao!! http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs...-serie-match-precisely-one-fan-152055117.html
Reading were not much better, or Wigan tbh. I travelled this January to Wigan on the bitterest cold nights with 2 other lads to watch us win and was joined by another 4,000. That was a 3 and a half hour drive in freezing conditions but thats what real fans are about. If we were in the Northern Premier League playing Hastings on a cold Tuesday night we would have a few hundred fans there and I would happily say that the mags would be exactly the same. The NE has the most patient, loyal and passionate fans anywhere in the world. Why else would so many still keep turning up week after week despite the 2 clubs having won **** all really between them in 60 years.
Would Chelsea, Spurs, even Arsenal have had 37,000 home supporters last night on a freezing night in our position i think not, oh and Spurs cannot get 37,000 anyhow!.
Over here we get the usual array of top European club shirts being worn mainly by kids. The grown lad I admire most though is a Hartlepool supporter who wears his shirt every Saturday, from a distancfe I took it to be an Argentina one.
Saw this a few days back. Well done that man! The club should give him a free tour or let him meet te team or something. Bet that would get a few more fans coming out. I drove up for the qpr game, which took a total of 8 hour there and back in the horrific rain and roads being closed for flooding, saw about 50 qpr fans there...
That's a fair point and we do have a monopoly up here I guess but they have no tradition or history either. Our clubs may have won **** all in the last 80 years but we have won the title 10 times between us and only 6 clubs have won it more times than we have in 130 odd years. That still counts when it comes to the count imo. Just imagine the support if either of us ever won the thing again?
Fair play to him but hardly shows great devotion, he was in the area for business anyway and ities never travel well. Saw another article on it where he says some samodoria fans took him out after and udinese have invited him as a guest to their home game this weekend http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-20700529
