As much as I loved him in The Green Mile, I'm afraid he's dead and is thus unable to take charge of any Football League matches for the foreseeable future.
Exactly right, barrack her as a lino, not because of her sex. She is a good lino though, something Keys and Grey assumed that she wouldn't be, showing their ignorance.
Indeed we are honoured by his presence. We have also got the lady lino who puts many of her colleques to shame with the flag. But nice to have yorkshireman Webb for a good old fashioned yorkie derby. Remember folks its a 12.30pm KO not 3pm.!!!!!!!! So, Back home in time for Jeff Stelling and the chaps for soccer saturday afterwards.
Only 6 PL matches on saturday and ours is a top yorkshire derby. No reason why Webb should not be given such a high profile match is there ? I am expecting the first 20,000+ crowd on saturday and a decent away following for a change. ffs, its no more than an hour away so why should Udders not bring at least 2,000 fans with them. City can go 3rd with a win as well - even if it will maybe only be for a couple of hours. Middlesboro are at home to Wolverhampton W. Indeed John thats what i thought. Good to see a strong ref in charge. It sends out the right message to both teams. Yes, a Rotherham Policeman to boot. She totally destroyed Gray and Keys with her performance that day. She very rarely gets things wrong unlike many of her male counterparts.
Takes me back to BP where the girls used to walk round with the match score on a board to choruses of "Get your tits out for the lads".
Strange comment to make. I would have thought that the ability to spot an offside, foul or ball going out of play would not be any different depending on whether the assistant ref is male or female.
Have you driven the M62 in the last 18 months? It takes well over an hour to get from Huddersfield to Hull with these roadworks.
Kick off is supposed to be at 12.30, but they players won't be able to come out to play until they've tidied their changing room!
If the players are anything like the teams I played for, then they would never leave the changing room.
Agreed. Merge. Interesting to note that our game saturday is Webbs first game in charge away from World Cup, Champions League and PL fixtures this season. We should all be honoured along with having Sian Massey running the line that is.
At this stage I would applaud him as he seems like a good ref. Ask me again at full time. Wht doesnt HDM carry stories like this?
You would think so. But sadly every saturday/sunday MOTD, FLS, SSN show that is not the case. I have not seen many if any instances when Sian Massey has got an offside call wrong. Hell, male match officials now are starting to lose sight of what is a dive and what is not. OJ had a stone wall penalty @: Watford last week and het gets booked for diving ffs. Having a Sian Massey do a game cannot be any worse surely ? Yes i have but not between the hours of 9am and 7pm.!!! Leave early enough and it should only take an hour.
Linesmen get nearly all their offside calls right, I'm sure the one Lineswoman we have is the same. There are many wrong decisions in football, but not many of them are offsides. I think it's a harder job than being the ref personally, but they aren't the centre of attention so they just do their job. Being the ref is as much about common sense as anything else and this is something they lack. That and having to abide by the crap they're told to do from above.
Leave before 9 am for a half 12 kick off? I'm leaving at 9, going to Cottingham, getting the bus and will still have time for a pint before the game. What do you want Hudds fans to do in Hull at 10 in the morning? Anyway, all their players were in the gym today when I was, if that's how footballers train in the gym then I wouldn't mind a piece of that! Alan Lee was stood next to a bike for the whole hour and a bit they were there messing about, not a single bit of work done.
