I have called the coming of the dawn and the first victory of the seasons too many times this season and put a curse on us. We did better last season when I called it straight and said our run in was too difficult, we had blown our chances of escape by appointing Hughes at the wrong time given his reputation for being a slow starter. I apologise. It's all my fault. I have brought relegation and ridicule upon us. Forgive that Hughes bloke. It was never his fault at all. I resign from the prediction league and in future will only ever say "We're doomed"
