Sun newspaper are reporting today that Leeds United are going to make a bid to bring back former player Max Gradel in January. They report that Leeds boss Neil Warnock is ready to switch is attention to The Ivory Coast international if they fail to land Jerome Thomas, who is currently on loan at Elland Road from Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. Gradel made 84 appearances for Leeds netting 25 times before signing for French Ligue 1 side St Etienne in the summer of 2011 after he said he wanted to be closer to his family. Who would we prefer Jerome Thomas or Mad Max? The fact that Warnock is looking at a second option may mean that the Thomas deal could be in doubt in January! Thoughts? Diouf, wants his future sorted out, and why wouldn't he!!! He is currently earning £5,000 a week, having linked up with the club on a half-season deal in September, wants to extend his stint with the club. He is understood to be seeking a deal in line with United’s higher earners, with McKay confirming there remains plenty of rival interest in the former Liverpool forward, with two Premier League clubs still keen on taking him in the January window – along with several Championship clubs. McKay is waiting for Leeds to get back in touch with him and wants renewed talks in a bid to resolve the future of Diouf, who turned down more lucrative offers from the Middle East to join United, before the new year. Securing the future of Diouf is one of several pieces of key transfer business that boss Neil Warnock is desperate to push through at the start of January, with a permanent move to bring in Michael Tonge from Stoke City also high on his priority list. Surely Diouf is higher priority than Tonge???
Morning I for one never believed the Bates spiel about Max wanting away, the fact is Bates wanted the cash so sold him. Would love him back if we can't have Thomas, but I think Thomas himself said that he was a WBA player and wanted to get back into the 1st team, so jumped at coming to Leeds. How has max done in the frog league, has he had sucess or is he just another good winger?
Max has not set the world alight in France, and has found it hard to settle. Who would be first choice?
Morning all, Completely agree with that assessment of the Gradel and Bates situation, the timing seemed too perfect for Bates, day before transfer window closed, leaving us without a replacement until January Saint Ettienne are 4th in the League, although suffered a poor 1-0 home defeat to Lyon, with the away side a man down for a 30 minute spell in which they managed to grab the goal. Seems to be playing and scoring so can't be doing too badly considering how well they're doing.
Watching the difference in class when Diouff came on in the second half at Derby, surely it must be a priority to sign Diouff up to a 2 year deal, surely?
An 18 month contract should be sufficient, we really can't afford to lose key players from this season given the limited quality we have available to us and i don't think it'll be easy to sign players in January. He kept us going during McCormack's spell out so has definitely earned a longer/better deal.

Morning all Gradels doing well and his team are in a current champions league spot! A player got sent off last game for headbutting Gradel (get this) in the stomach! Gradel looked to make a meal of it, but its obviously something you cant do on a footy pitch. Honestly these footballers wouldnt last five seconds in the real world, everyone knows a headbutt has to be aimed at the bridge of the nose. Except the french apparently <zidane>
