no need hes top notch, can dribble, has a good shot, good with the head, is excellent at positioning himself in defence doesnt get pushed around, reasonably cheap, and only young, Johaan Cruijff is in charge of Ajax, and he makes the decisions on who they sign or come from the Academy to first team.
There is no point buying abroad just for the sake of it. If you want a young ball playing cb with pace look no further than Louis Laing from the U21s.
isnt it Frank De Boer who is in charge in Ajax. Cruyff has just been sacked from a position in Mexico with Chivas de Guadalajara as a sports consultant last week.
Yeah think Roger is mixed up, think Cruyff still oversees the Catalan national team as well on a part time basis.
nope he finished a law suite a month back as the board appointed a manager Van Gaal whilst he was on holiday when he came back he went to court and sacked everyone who had a hand in it, now he runs the show, appoints the manager, and has the final say on everything. and hes always in the papers here, his latest is appointing ex Ajax players for coaches scouts everything im not wrong check it out. and the spelling is Cruijff not Cruyff
ok not what i have read but im not in holland so.. Return to Ajax On 11 February 2011, Cruyff returned to Ajax on an advisory basis after agreeing to become a member of one of three "sounding board groups". Chivas de Guadalajara Cruyff became an advisor for Mexican club Club Deportivo Guadalajara in February 2012. Jorge Vergara, the owner of the club, made him the team's sport consultant in response to the losing record Guadalajara lived in the last few months of 2011.[41] Although signed to a three-year contract, Cruyff was fired 2 December 2012, after just nine months with the club. Guadalajara said that other members of the team's coaching staff will likely not be terminated.[42] thats all i can find (as well as older stories from feb 2012 re the vaan gaal stuff. but going to watch the mags play now.
««« previous next »»» Ajax keeps financial problems secret Monday 13 August 2012 Amsterdam football club Ajax has enormous financial problems which have been kept secret, the Telegraaf reports on Monday without naming its sources. According to the paper, former chairman Uri Coronel and former general director Rick van den Boog left behind a financial 'graveyard' when they left the club in early 2011 following a row with Johan Cruijff. The new supervisory board is shocked at the extent of the financial problems which include enormous and, according to some sources, irresponsible risks. However, financial director Jeroen Slop is preventing them from making the situation public until Ajax has found a replacement for Van den Boog, says the paper. Transfers Ajax is currently in such dire financial straits it has been selling valuable players. Among them are Mounir El Hamdaoui, Rodney Sneijder, Theo Janssen and Vurnon Anita. It is also looking to sell Gregory van der Wiel and Miralem Sulejmani and to find a new central defender and a wing player before the transfer deadline of August 31, says the Telegraaf.
not sure how that says cruyff is running everything, he just had a row with the top brass nearly 2 years go and they resigned. but you live there maybe there are other stuff on the grapevine which none uf us from abroad are privvy to. and the dutch have always sold their best players, so nothing unusual there.
i read dutch news for expats on the internet every night, and i know Cruijff sacked van Gall it was only a short while ago, but hey ho, ONLY TRY AND KEEP OUR LADS UP TO DATE IF I READ ANY GOOD SNIPPETS I PUBLISH ON OUR BOARD, if he has had another job i wasn't aware mate nee probs, always enjoy your footy input.
MON has to stop fannying around and make a decision - are Kilgallon, Bramble and O'Shea good enough for the side? I think that answer is no. Therefore we need somebody brought in ASAP - if its Dawson then so be it. He's from Northallerton so no excuses about not wanting to be in the North East.
We need someone who can hit the ground running If he can weigh in with 20 goals up the other end that would be a canny bonus
