Who would we lose if we didn't get into Europe again? + 2013/14

I personally still think it's very possible we can finish 7th place, but even then it's quite possible it will be taken by a cup team.

If we had a decent finish in the top 8-10, do you reckon it would mean many players would leave? The only reason I would want us to finish that high again is to keep our current players, so we can rejoin elite pack again next season.

We have a lot of talent, and yes players have played poorly at times, but injuries have had a massive effect on top of Europe. I personally think this season has been a lesson for us and all those involved. Even though we might finish below where we hoped, I think It will do us good.

Anyways, back to the point. Here's a few players I could see people mentioning, but there ones I think we will keep-

Ben Arfa - I personally think he would stay. If we finish quite strongly and show promise, I think his obviously massive price tag and also how humble he has become will keep him here for at least another season. He's had a few injuries since being here, and I think the support and the patience we've had with him has gained us his love, and he always talks about wanting to be a big player here. I think he will stay, but we must regroup in the 13/14 and push on.

Cabaye - It's possible, but again with injuries, I think injuries can sometimes be useful. We will finish the season well enough and he will remain humble. There'd be a much bigger chance of him leaving if he played well all season, and we didn't finish that high.

Tiote - He's not been good enough recently for us to worry about bids IMO.

Players who will most likely leave for me -

Santon - He has been brilliant for most of the season, and most consistent performer. No doubt there will be a good bid in for him, and I wouldn't blame him for leaving.

Ba - I don't think he's greedy, but I personally believe wages and his contract will be an issue, and there'll

And that's it apart from us getting rid of a few players we no longer need.

I think we can maintain a strong side and really push for Europe again in 2013/14.

The club have shown interest in getting a new striker, and I think we could replace Ba will someone good. I also think we will sign a few players and Ashley and the club will have learned that depth is very important.

 

Cabaye will be away too I reckon.

 

I think there is a chance the following might leave without Europe but it is hard to say because it would depend what offers they had:

Ba, Cisse, Cabaye, Tiote, Santon, Benni, Anita, Willo

Basically alot of our best players who deserve to be playing European football

I don't think it's realistic to put all those players next to the exit door to be honest.

Remember we will drive a hard bargain for our best players.

 

They wouldn't all go. I'm not Katmandu Tash I just think they would be in the "at risk" category. I think Cabaye would be the most likely.

I think Ben Arfa, Cabaye or Tiote could leave if the right offer came in from the right team (and the club would take the cash readily). I don't see any of them 'forcing' a move though. Ba and Simpson both seem likely to leave as they will try to hold the club to ransom over wages and the heirarchy would prefer to sell them on (and i agree, i want us to be kept on a good financial footing). Simpson is under-rated but replaceable, Ba can be covered by Cisse moving into the middle as solo but it leaves us without any scope for injuries whatsoever.

Basically we need to have 2-3 more players who are first team quality, and another coming in for each player that goes out. I don't mind if the above leave so long as they are replaced with quality.

 

Cabaye would certainly be gone, I just don't think he seems as happy and the non signing of Debuchy hasn't sat well with him in my opinion. I also think Ba would be gone but other than hose two I think we'd keep on to the other "purple" players.

 

Can't see Cabaye going actually, he's not a big enough name for the top clubs and he hasn't been consistent enough for someone like Arsenal or Spurs to take a 20mill+ punt on

 

Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Ba, Santon and Krul - bids WILL come for them.

Oh and don't think Ashley wont have the balls to take the money for all of them when they do because he will and he also will have faith Grham Carr can get better for much less- lets hope so.
