    Not the result I wanted.

Many will think it will end any hope of a Mayweather match up. I actually think it increases the possibility. I wonder if he is just a little bit shot from all the wars and just the wrong side of his best. That will appeal to Mayweather and Manny's hand in negotiations would be weakened too.

I'd probably look for an easier one to go out on a win in front of his own fans and hang them up. I think he'll go on though and even talked about a 5th with Marquez afterwards.

Pacman was having a relatively easy time of it, looked better than he ever has against Marquez part from two monstrous right hooks.

Pac vs Marquez 5 next year I reckon.
Possibly Mayweather, agree with Warm Pouch. If that doesn't happen than Mayweather vs Ginger and Martinez would suffice.

Great fight stayed up and watched it last night and I've just been woken up by my housemates  Thought it would be Pacmans again but they were swinging for the walls in the 6th could have been either of them.

The fight before wasn't bad either but the rest of the fights were pretty ****e haha

The judges cheated to give Pacquiao the victory in the last fight, this was the only right result for boxing, and what a knockout to end it aswell.

There are people suggesting that Marquez had been using illegal substances in his preparation - used to boost his physique and power.

I've never seen Manny battered by a single punch like that before... :emoticon-0146-punch

Would worry me that his reactions have gone, he didn't seem to see the punch at all. It was a bit like him with Hatton. Not with the fight overall because Manny actually fought ok. But just the way he seemed to miss the punch coming at him. It was a sharp and short one but still. He was getting pretty wild at the time of course, he thought he had him going.

I had Manny easily ahead on the points front - he'd levelled up the knock-downs and was boxing far better than Marquez.

Manny looked sharp and was boxing to a good plan, which was working until lights out!

I do think he boxed well, but I've never seen him miss a punch completely like that. I suppose only he can answer why that happened. As for the PEDs, who really knows. I mean Mayweather/Pacquiao could all be guilty given the very poor governance of drugs in the sport. People say "ah but Mayweather wanted Manny to take test, why would he ask if he was on them himself?" My answer is always the same. Berto and Petersen claimed they wanted Olympic style testing but have both been proven to be cheats since! Sometimes he who shouts the loudest has the most to hide.

The only real way to take away these suspicions and conjecture is start testing properly. The reluctance from propmoters etc suggests they all know its rife.

I don't know what went through Manny's head in 6. I know he was starting to tag him but it was never time to get careless!

I've not seen Manny avoid so many punches from Marquez in any of the fights between them, his head movement was brilliant. Part from the 2 massive right hooks anyway.

Not worried about his reactions though, he admits himself he got way over confident because of Marquez' bloody face and tried to finish it. I doubt anyone would have seen that KO punch, especially with how short it was.

Manny got hit a lot in previous fights no doubt, he has always been hit a lot. It is just rare that his head is so static as a bomb lands. He literally took that whole punch full on. I can't say I've ever seen him really do that, he has always been at least moving a little to take some sting out.

To be fair though it was really well delivered. To the uneducated boxing fan they'd call it a "lucky" punch as Marquez threw it kinda blind. In reality that is pure study work from the Marquez camp and utilising knowledge gained from 3 previous fights. Marquez has always been like kryptonite to Manny for some reason <laugh>

The old cliche about styles making fights has never been more apt
