Sorry, I didn't even say the obvious. Great game, a real credit to football. And Swansea are a credit, too. Definitely my favourite Prem team except for us.
Agreed - terrific game and can't wait to hear the MotD pundits tonight!!!!! Just heard CH on Radio Norfolk'n Good - Tettey has a slight knock, but R Bennett's is a bit more serious. Hope they rest Tettey on Tue.
I like Michael Laudrup, many similarities between us and Swansea in a way, but a fair few differences too. Happy to see both clubs have bounced back after losing two very good managers. I personally think that we both have even better managers now.
Let's remember this is only his 3rd game and he was mom against Sunderland and saved a penalty against Spurs that got us to next weeks quarters . Crikey Vietnam we won! No need for a Canary Call moment!!
Great game today lads. Given your 1st half performance i think you deserved to just nick it. Think we would have nicked it ourselves if the disallowed goal had stood and we had gone 3-3. All the best for the rest of the season
Even at 3 - 0 up, I still never felt comfortable and had a feeling Swansea would get back in it. I literally bit my finger nails all the way through this game, it was nerve wrecking. That's credit to Swansea for being a good team.
First two goals down to bad decision making by Bunn? What decision did he get wrong with the first goal? In the case of the second goal he started to come but recognised that he would be blocked off by Bassong and the Swan's player jumping in front of him. If he had come and been blocked off people would be saying he made the wrong decision. Third goal could maybe be put down to his error, but it was a fantastically flighted cross that confused every City defender. Regarding the difference in performance in the two halves, I don't think you can say it is down to tiredness. The team weren't tired at 45 minutes, had 15 minutes respite, and came back on tired? Swansea came out with a flea in their ear and their pride to play for (as did Sunderland); they did to us at the start of the second half what we did to them in the first. The explanation is probably partly psychological --minds set on defending the lead rather than continuing like in the first half, with resulting loss of tempo -- but mostly down to the opposition playing as we all know they can. What the two second half performances really show is the energy, resilience and determination the team have.
Great leap from basong for his goal. And a brilliant one from Whittaker Worrying that ryan b is injured, but on the plus side turner is back in training.
I think most teams would of struggled to hold Swansea after they scored a very good goal just after half time, let alone a team with three defensive players missing, including an England international goalkeeper. Bunn has shown in the short time he has had between the sticks that he is a capable goalkeeper.
bang on robbie the tiredness thing is total nonsense. didn't get to see the match unfortunately but was absolutely delighted when i heard the scoreline. it's a result which, in my opinion, is on a par with beating arsenal and united - that's how impressive it is, away from home - and also gives valued credit to our defeated opponents
Great game a real battle, a bit gutted not to get something out of it as you would be if we had nicked it . Good luck against the other teams for the rest of the season.
If Santa is thinking about stocking fillers for either myself or Chris Hughton, could he please bring Michu down my chimney His link up play, the goals he scored were top of the range, and the swivel and first time shot with his left foot that fizzed narrowly wide deserved better. Today was the first time I've seen him in action, no wonder Laudrup rates him so highly Stunning match and result - especially when you remember they beat Arsenal 2-0 last weekend
What's even more impressive is they only paid 2 million for Michu. I'm hoping we can bring in someone as good as Michu in the January window.
God I hate you budgerigars so much, your jammy success has been wholly unmerited. It won’t last; it never does for the Turnip Taliban.
That's true, was always going to be a difficult half. Been saying Snodgrass has been a bit predictable of late, thought he looked really good today. Only watched highlights but he seemed very good today, that flick to Whittaker was sublime. Also don't really get the Bunn thing, I don't think he done too bad, yes could have done better on the last goal, but didn't defend that goal well at all as a whole. Game was pretty much won at that point anyway. I think the second goal was more Bassong's fault, he seemed to move away from it when he was in a good position to close De Guzman's angle.
Brilliant Mikey - any more FACTS up you're sleeve?? Perhaps you know some facts about our games against Chelsea and Citeh in the next few weeks. Care to share them???
Late on today to an obviously excited board. Great display by the All Blacks against all expectations. Just want to say that the more I see of Chris Hughton, the more I like him.
