QPR are Keane on former Spurs star By Paul WarburtonDec 7 2012 Add a commentRecommend inShare.0 Share on emailShare on print Robbie Keane Image 3 QPR are hoping to bring Robbie Keane to Loftus Road. Rock-bottom Rangers are desperate for proven strikers and the 32-year-old would be ideal in their quest to escape relegation â especially as he would be rejoining the manager he served under at Tottenham. Harry Redknapp is loath to spend vast sums in January for deals that donât work out â but could see a short-term contract for Keane (pic) in the offing. The Irish international is half way through a two-year deal with MLS superstars LA Galaxy. But in the same way David Beckham joined AC Milan in 2009 on an initial similar arrangement, Keane could also join Hoops until the MLS starts again in March. The Rs boss is keeping tabs on things across the pond. He said: âA short-term loan coming over from the MLS? Yeah, thatâs interesting. Thatâs the market where we have to look. âRobbieâs a good shout. I havenât spoken to him yet but a good player. Heâs scored goals and did well.â However, as much as Redknapp would like to bring former target Chris Samba from Anzhi Makhachkala to Rangers, the Russian team's Europa League qualification for the knockout stages has quashed any move for the giant defender. The manager added: âSamba? No. Weâd like to, but no.â Read More http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-qpr/2012/12/07/82029-32384048/#ixzz2EQHbX3bx

Rangers have scored just 11 goals in 15 Premier League games this season and remain bottom of the table without a win. Long-term injuries to Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson have left Redknapp desperately short of strikers, with only Djibril Cisse and Jamie Mackie available, and Keane could be available until the start of the American soccer season in March. American boy: Robbie Keane celebrates MLS Cup glory with David Beckham The 32-year-old scored three goals in seven games for Aston Villa in a similar arrangement at the beginning of this year. Keane, whom Redknapp managed at Tottenham, shone in his first full season with LA Galaxy, scoring 22 goals in 34 games and winning his second MLS Cup in David Beckham’s final game in the USA last week. Redknapp said: ‘I think the MLS is a market we’ve got to look at. Robbie’s a good shout. ‘I haven’t spoken to him yet but he would be an interesting player. He’s a good pro and he would be the ideal type to have around for sure because he would give us something. Goal-scoring’s a knack and Robbie had a good season, scored goals and did well.’ Redknapp, whose side travel to Wigan on Saturday hoping for their first away win in the league for 13 months, will meet QPR chairman Tony Fernandes in person next week for the first time since taking over from Mark Hughes. The Rangers boss said: ‘I think they are genuinely caring people and they deserve some success. They’ve had a go haven’t they? They’ve spent money in the summer and they’ve ended up struggling. ‘If we can find one or two players that can make the difference in January then it could really kick start us and get us going. ‘But we need a couple of results before then. We can’t keep getting cut too far adrift.’ .. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...obbie-Keane-loan-LA-Galaxy.html#ixzz2EQIdtJDA Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook
Harry is just trying to correct a monumental f*** up by MH and rebalancing the squad whichever way he can.
Doesn't smell right at all. Didn't someone on this board say Harry isn't his appointment? He still wanted to keep MH. He put his reputation on the line with that useless t*t of a manager.
Keane on a deal to the end of the season would be worth a try, the guy scores goals, something our players seem averse to...
I said that and stand by the fact it was a mitall decision, lots going to happen in the summer and we ain't talking transfers. Lets just say an option is likely to be exercised
Harry was quoted as saying about the owners, "I've said it a million times. They're nice people. I'm not saying that because I need the job - if I thought they was tossers I would say so!"...
might not be too bad as a short time deal at least if it dont work we dont get stuck with someone longterm
Would be perfect for us. Scored lots for Villa last season on loan as well. A very clever player. Has not list his pace cause he never had any. Think there will be plenty of clubs in for him and TBH we would be very lucky to get him
Harry also mentioned David Bentley who's loan move to some Russian club ends in January. looks like a lot of the current squad will be playing with the youths for the 2nd half of the season.
This mornings telegraph says Harry's in for Titus bramble initially on a loan deal. Bramble also being courted by fulham Bramble???
I'd say this is credible, Cerny. I suspect what is happening off the field is as interesting as what (we hope) will happen on it.
Agreed. Seems amazing that TF has not met Harry face to face after two weeks! Not sure Tony will be here next season. As for Keane....not sure. Well past his best, but possibly could be as good as we can get.
We are missing our quota of players with dubious backgrounds. Although he was cleared of the charges of rape and also sexual assault.... No thanks.
Agreed Col, I wouldn't be too keen (sorry, couldn't resist!) on Robbie myself. Having said that, he is Ireland's top goal scorer. BUT annoys the sh1te out of me the way sometimes he throws the arms up in the air and can do a mini-strop if things don't go his way - he might finally be growing out of that though (perhaps he could cure Adel?). He does score goals though........something we badly need!
