A hospital nurse caring for the Duchess of Cambridge, who was duped by two DJs pretending to be the Queen and Prince Charles, is understood to have committed suicide. That's horrific. Prank calls get right on my wick and just aren't funny anyway but this just shows how little thought the protagonists give to the 'middle man' in all of this. I hope they now think their 15 mins of fame was worth it. Absolutely stunned by this.
It was a harmless prank which she fell for. A few days before most people thought it was funny. I'd agree she probably feared for her position there, but doubt she'd have been sacked for it. She'd probably be just moved on somewhere else. As i said above, what was her mental state before it? She might have a history of attempting it.
Twitter have removed the Aussie dj's twitter account @mcontheradio, as it's full of bragging about how funny his prank was.

Have always hated the kind of so called humour (Jeremy Beadle et al) that relies on humiliating unsuspecting people who are just doing their job. Whatever the underlying reasons (if indeed there were any) for the state of mind that led this woman to kill herself, those stupid halfwit twats certainly made their contribution. Doubt they have the brainpower between them to reflect and learn.....

who know what sort of private aggro she was under from her employees that pride themselves in whatever meaningless **** they pride themselves in. plus there will be the local media hacks with their only way into a story.the pressure on her probably quite normal live would have been unthinkable. who know where it will end now as media is in the spotlight right now

Patently it wasn't harmless to her. You're right, she would probably just have had an arse kicking, but She didn't know that. One assumes her mental state prior to the incident had given no cause for concern, or she would not have been given those duties. Sorry, I think the Ausie couple are culpable. Even if they only thought she would get bollocked they obviously had no concern for who they may hurt. I hope they get sacked, they were quite happy to let that happen to the nursing staff involved. I do not think you should be suggesting that she might have had a history of self harm. You have no evidence to support or even suggest that. You would be, rightly, angry if someone suggested that about you or one of yours. No further action will come of this I'm sure, but I think the two "reporters" should hang their heads in shame. Whatever the mental state of their victim.
