The Italian's height did actually slip my mind but I believe you are correct that he is half an inch shorter than Chester.
You will always be able to find an exception to any rule but Chester is small for a top class centre back.
For the record John Terry is 6'2" as is Lescott.Ferdinand and our own Jack hobbs are both 6'3" whilst Chester is only 5'10".

Anton Ferdinand is 6ft, yet he's not fit to lace Chester's boots.

Even if he could reach them from up there.

As Ricardo says, I don't think his height rules him out as a CB, But he could definitely be a holding midfielder one day. His tackling would be awesome in there to start counter attacks and he's good on the ball too.

There are loads of big bulky CBs but hardly any can do what Chester does. I don't think we fully appreciate him sometimes, his skills are so rare in English football. I agree with Bullshit Man that if I was a Chester fan rather than a City fan, I'd want him to go to the PL now. He's definitely ready and he needs the next challenge.

This contract should have been sorted almost a year ago, let's hope we follow through with it this time, and before January please.

Can you not remember NP's little experiment of putting Chester in the holding role? He was pretty **** there. CB is definitely his position and is where he should stay.

He's 24 next month, the next step is important for him career wise. Maybe he wants a move in January or is content here till the end of the season. If i was him i wouldnt sign a new deal, I'd wait till the summer.

Looking at the some of the CB's in the Premiership there's no reason him and Hobbs cant play there, but stop the ****fest. If he was as brilliant as some are making out Fergie would never have got rid of him.

Chazz he is now, he's come on leaps and bounds with us. He's better than Sergio Ramos, Chester is easily one of the best centerbacks in the world right now.

You've won me over Bob, so with Macca getting MOTM's every week above Chezzy, we definitely have the finest CB pairing in the world!! I can live with that.

Apparently Chester wears a Lonsdale vest under his kit every game, there's his secret to success.

Our CB pairing sure is undisputed.

The greatest centre back to ever play football - Franco Baresi - is shorter than James Chester.

I know it was for personal reasons , and not football. But, Jaap Stam must be the best player he let go. He read the game so well.
