Good team but one thing, people seem to want a 6ft+ striker and Waghorn is only 5ft 9. Unless he can leap aswell as McLean (but play better) or we start to play balls along the floor more often, we should look elsewhere.
Peter Crouch for 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps. On a serious note, a target man is essential - as we all know - but we all seem to be reluctant to come up with suggestions. I for one can't think of one who'd be affordable, available AND would want to sign for us. It's a tough job this transfer malarkey!
David Nugent 5ft 11, as good as 6ft Ishmael Miller - Hodgson not a fan and QPR won't have him.. possible ? 6ft 3 any idea on contract length? Cameron Jerome - 6ft 1 anyone know whether he is free or what his contract left is, joined BCFC in 2006. Birmingham spending on Bentley, their good defensively so it may knock Jerome back a pace and i imagine is good at this level.
These are the areas i'd like Nigel to strengthen CB x2 DCM LW Target Man I'd prefair if one of the centre backs, the DCM and the target man where quite experience.
Mannone/Eilhoff Rosenior, Ayala,Chester,Dudgeon (feels like we could need someone older though) New, Danns, Evans, Stewart Homer, Fryatt Subs/Reserves: Mannone/Eilhoff, Hobbs, Cooper, Daws, Akpan,Garcia Cairney,Barmby, Belaid, Mclean Something like that ^^
Am I right in thinking dudgeon was the player in question after AP had said 'young left sided Yorkshire-born player'?
Nope Cameron Stewart is definatly right footed but has been deployed on the left due to his unbelievable pace but he is not a natural LW, ideally we could get a natural LW capable of playing on the right to and him and Cameron Stewart could swop during the game to keep full backs guessing.
We all hate the hoofball we used to see under Brown and before. Right? So whats this about a target man, usually only necessary with hoofball tactics??? or have I missed something subtle?
First of all we didn't play hoofball under Phil Brown. Secondly, do you think Chelsea play hoofball? Do you think Spurs play hoofball? Do you think Manchester United play hoofball? Do you think Man City play hoofball? Do you think West Ham play hoofball? Do you think Everton play hoofball? do you think Newcastle play hoofball? Point is just because you have a traditional Centre Forward as all the above teams have, doesn't mean you are going to play hoofball.
Strovolos, I think West Ham might be a bit of a poor comparison to use considering how they have performed over the last few years, but overall your arguments pretty sound.
I am starting to think that Dudgeon has been brought in to play left wing. He's obviously the tough left sided Yorkshireman that was mentioned as a left winger by Pearson, he has played left wing as well as left back for Man United reserves and Pearson said this week that he was 'a left back, who could also play further up the field'.
I pondered that yesterday but wasn't sure where he was from. Disappointing if so, I think we need a left back and a left winger, not both in the same player.
