Hello there, does anyone here like the NFL?

If so, come on down to the American football forum, on not606 for some gridiron based fun.

    See you there!

Used to watch a lot of it.

That horrible little poison dwarf (he could hardly see over the counter) Mike Carlson started using the same pub as me when he moved over here and it kind of put me off the game.

It'll probably stay near the top anyway mate...

DT loves American Football, she might be up for it, but I hate the sport. It's like a ****** has watched a game of rugby and tried to recreate it whilst pissed <ok>

Imagine if an actual football game lasted 4 hours for about 30 minutes entertainment? I wouldn't have got home from the Wigan game last night til about 3am!

Thanks, who is DT? I will send a pm if you have the full user name. Good win last night by the way, very professional job.

I'll do it for a couple of days because there's some interest in it, but I wouldn't like it to be a precedent for non football threads to be advertised.

Hope it takes off for you.

PS. DT is TheJPF's other half, the one that calls the tune and controls the purse strings.

That said, yes I do enjoy watching the sport. I play football , but not American football. I love football, but I can respect the love some have for American football, which is a violent sport, and many of the players used to have various brain injuries after they stop playing.

Was going to get our lass tickets for the Texans - Colts game as Houstons not too far and Colts are her team, but I think the boredom would kill me. I wouldn't mind it if they didn't stop every few minutes and have a ridiculous amount of adverts and songs and sh*t!

My participation in American football extends only so far as to watching the Super Bowl.

It's an experience for sure, the game goes faster when you are there compared to on tele and the atmosphere etc is great however it is an expensive day, bought my tickets off someone selling them outside but was right on the halfway line

Was brouhgt up on the game. Spent my school days playing pick up games. Dreamed of being a quarterback.

Moved to England. Watched some real sports. Realised what a poor excuse for a sport the NFL is.

Could still watch a game with some enjoyment but cna't respect it.

I liked it in my younger days. Do they still make John Madden games? I used to love them.

Washington Redskins were always my team, how are they doing now? Art Monk was my favourite player.

Used to watch it in years gone by, had a bit of a soft spot for Detroit Lions, guess it was because each time I went to the States I went via Detroit or Chicago. Didn't want to look as if I was jumping on the bandwaggon by following Chicago.

It also meant the Pistons were my top basketball team too.

Always thought of it as being a guy's form of netball, something like the girls played at school while we played football or cricket.

    How wrong I was.

They're doing ok, 6-6 with a rookie quaterback who certainly looks like he's destined for good things.
