I don't think we have our own moderators here, as they do on other boards. Would be happy to put my name forward if anyone thinks we need one.
"we need one" I'd say that we will, the WUMs will become residents on this board no matter what we do. Don't know how you become one but yeah, I think you should.
Lukey - I was asked by cyprussydsafc a few weeks back to be the Cardiff board moderator. I declined on the basis that I would be expected to moderate ALL posters comments - that includes those at CCFC who might be considered to go over the top. I declined on the basis that moderating against those Cardiff posters that I've known through the Beeb 606 this past 4 years would go against the grain. There is the other thing that I doubt I could find the spare time necessary to do the job efficiently - you would need to be on this board pretty constantly to do the job effectively. Give it a go if you wish, but beware the backlash you might get from some loyal CCFC posters who sometimes go OTT in their replies to the inevitable WUMS. P.S......I did suggest Aber for the job, but he didn't seem too keen on the idea.............
I became the Mod for Watford after being asked by cyprussydsafc. That was a couple of months ago and I have modded only one comment in all that time - funnily enough the first post on our Board by your very own Aberdude. (He changed his comments slightly and since then posted quite a lot of good comments on our Board. There was a little resistance at first tothe idea of us having a Mod - only as the BBC Mods were heavy handed. We had one other person from another club winding people up but a short note to him and he also became a welcome poster. It is useful to have Mod on the site just in case of nasty outside WUMs - you would probably only mod one of your own if lots of others were complaining. Give it a go and contact cyprus
ok guys ive got a few for you old sparky proph aber also glam in no order but i do feel these would bring the best out of the cardiff posts aber please think again on this topic
You need a mod and I want one, you know your fans better than me so give me a name or names and I will appoint or have a vote. The mod is there to make sure the board runs the way you want it.
Might help if I explain the mods role, never a problem with having to moderate your own sensible fans, we are NOT 606. The moderator will be one of you and there to watch over things and ensure the board is run the way you, the fans, want it. By far the best form of moderation is self moderation, use the no swear filter and ignore facility but above all to respect other members. The forum will grow then its usually visitors from other teams that can cause the problem, wumming and banter is part of footy but we all know the line. By appointing a mod now you can lay down your ground rules so its up to you. The mod needs to be open minded and sensible, its not a power trip role. Over to you.
Moderating other Cardiff fans may indeed hurt somewhat, but regardless of what the WUM's say or do we are a reasonable bunch of people, I'd like to think we wouldn't overstep the mark, or at least understand the reasoning behind said moderation. If you're still looking Syd, consider me a willing volunteer.
Seems to be the general consensus, I think it's a good idea. If sparky still doesn't want to, give it to the prophet.
Just thought I'd make your day girls, I've been asked to moderate on the Swansea board!!.......................... please log in to view this image But if you are going to appoint Proph/Scowler, then I hope we bring in Vetch!................... please log in to view this image
Question, if we have a moderator will I see beable to tell Aussie Jack when he finally comes over here that he's a complete and utter cocksucker and not have it censored out.
He'd probably complain to our moderator about your post, who would then tell him to fk off back to Sydney (or was it Sidney the arse ).
