Racing today from Catterick, Herefored and Wexford over the jumps and Lingfield and Kempton on the Polytrack.

Highlight of the day is the novice chase at Hereford where Vulcanite tackles fences for the first time. Salden Licht is an interesting opponent. Will another horse stake an early claim for the Arkle today?

    Morning all

    3.00 Ling - FOCAIL MAITH @8/1

1lb lower than last win on the AW

    3.20 Catt - MAISON DE VILLE @5/2

3rd in a decent Aintree bumper, she should take all the beating here.

    Good luck all!

    3 today at Catterick
12.20 Amir Pasha 25/1, 1.20 Vardas Supreme 11/2, 2.50 Quetzal 4/1. Got to admire Amir Pashas constitution, 78 runs in 4 1/2 years with never more than 60 days between races. Has won at around this mark before. Vardas Supreme has run well recently without winning. Maybe today's the day, last chance saloon with my tuppence on his back anyhow. Quetzal will hopefully be better today following his seasonal reappearance.
Interested in Salden Licht, Vulcanite clash at Hereford too. Though wouldn't be surprised if Grams and Ounces spoils the party. Already has experience over fences including a decent 2nd to Sire de Grugy. Vulcanite doesn't have any form on soft which would be a concern as would Salden Licht's long absence from the track. A race to watch rather than punt.
Good luck to anyone speculating today.

    Hello all,

Feeling as rough as a badgers arse, so sat at home watching the racing.

    12.00 Archie Stevens - 8/1 EW

This race is a handicap and one of the runners is long odds on in a race they make their handicap debut in, shocking price and as such he makes the market for the others. Archie has run in handicaps and has been competitive and today he can continue an upwards curve.

Yarroom won well at the line, strange how wide they came down the straight, not going to back anything else at Lingfield today as I am a bit confused by what the jocks were doing.

Had a little each way on Francis Du Mesnil at 25s Hereford 2.40 today. On a long losing streak but if he was anywhere near his best he would go very close in this weak contest.

Even worse was that he ran in the car park around 10 horses wide on the bend!

First lieutenant is a much better horse on improved ground which he doesnt get in Ireland. He also handles the Cheltenham course extremely well. I am still all over bobs worth for the cup certainly ahead of flemenstar regardless of what he achieves over this weekend at a shorter trip.

Ted rides them to sleep at Lingfield, a interesting little maiden in which the right horses finished in the picture. I expect High Net Worth will go on to be the best of the field in time, was too green to go past the winner donw the straight.

Well AP did the job on Vulcanite but i wouldn't say that it was the best of races... All of them had at least one dodgy jump, but AP rode the best race in the end... Not so sure one for the Arkle Oddy, but one to watch next time out for sure...
