Sincerely trust that was said with tongue in cheek considering recent predictions of Cardiff v Hull 4-0, Birmingham v Hull 2-0, Nott.Forest v Hull 3-0
Arsenal 1-1 West Brom Man City 1-2 Man Utd Southampton 2-1 Reading Wigan 0-2 QPR Blackburn 3-3 Cardiff Derby 0-2 Leeds Crystal Palace 2-0 Blackpool Watford 1-1 Hull City (Koren) Preston 3-1 Crewe Rochdale 2-1 Exeter

Arsenal 2 - 1 West Brom Man City 2 - 2 Man Utd Southampton 2 - 1 Reading Wigan 1 - 1 QPR Blackburn 1 - 1 Cardiff Derby 2 - 1 Leeds Crystal Palace 2-0 Blackpool Watford 1 - 2 Hull City (Koren and Elmohamady *) Preston 2 - 1 Crewe Rochdale 2 - 1 Exeter New thing this week, if you predict the City scorers you get 2 extra points for each correct scorer so if I said Faye and Koren and it was them two who scored, I would get four points and if Koren only scored I would get 2 points. I will change it if * Aluko is fit.
Arsenal 2-1 West Brom Man City 1-3 Man Utd Southampton 1-1 Reading Wigan 3-3 QPR Blackburn 0-0 Cardiff Derby 1-1 Leeds Crystal Palace 1-2 Blackpool Watford 2-2 Hull City (Chester,Simpson) Preston 4-2 Crewe Rochdale 1-1 Exeter
Arsenal 3 - 1 West Brom Man City 2 - 1 Man Utd Southampton 2 - 0 Reading Wigan 1 - 3 DQPR Blackburn 2 -1 Cardiff Derby 1 - 1 Leeds Crystal Palace 2 - 2 Blackpool Watford 1 - 2 Hull City (Quinn, Aluko) Preston 3 - 0 Crewe Rochdale 2 - 1 Exeter
You might want to rethink that. If I say: City 11-0 Stockdale, Elmo, Rosie, Bruce, McShane, Chester, Quinn, Meyler, Koren, Aluko, Simpson and it ends up City 2-3 Koren, Aluko and 3 no marks for them I would get more points than someone who said City 2-3 Simpson (2) ---------------------------------- It also makes it a pain in the arse to do the correct scoring, especially if people are going to start going "Koren and Simpson, but I'll swap Simpson for Aluko if Aluko is fit". We don't go City 2-1, but 3-1 if Aluko is fit.
That is a good point. I have yet to do my picks. I just might be picking 22 - 0 that way if there is a brace i get the points.
Arsenal 2-1 West Brom Man City 1-1 Man Utd Southampton 2-1 Reading Wigan 1-3 QPR Blackburn 1-1 Cardiff Derby 2-1 Leeds Crystal Palace 3-2 Blackpool Watford 1-2 Hull City (Koren,Simpson) Preston 3-1 Crewe Rochdale 1-1 Exeter
You can put 11-0 if you want but then you won't get the points that you would get anyway. And they can't change it after 11:00 on the day of the game, in which we should know who and who isn't fit!
Arsenal 1-1 West Brom Man City 1-2 Man Utd Southampton 1-1 Reading Wigan 1-0 QPR Blackburn 1-3 Cardiff Derby 1-2 Leeds Crystal Palace 2-0 Blackpool Watford 2-3 Hull City (Quinn, Elmo and Macca's right hand to even up the score with his left!! actually Simpson to be more sensible ) Preston 1-0 Crewe Rochdale 2-2 Exeter
Between now and the end of the season I'd expect to lose 4 or 6 points from missed scorelines (I only get 3 points for every 7.5th prediction I make so I'd drop 2 or 3 of ours by the end of the season). At the same time I'd have about 20 games to pick up 3 goal scorers that I didn't predict would score that particular day. I'll do it this week to demonstrate. I actually think 1-1 Aluko, but these are my predictions: Arsenal 1-1 West Brom Man City 1-2 Man Utd Southampton 1-1 Reading Wigan 0-1 QPR Blackburn 2-1 Cardiff Derby 2-1 Leeds Crystal Palace 1-1 Blackpool Watford 27-27 Hull City (Stockdale, Amos, Jakupovic, Oxley, Dawson, Dudgeon, Brady, Rosenior, Elmohamady, Chester, Bruce, McShane, Faye, Hobbs, Evans, McKenna, Meyler, Cairney, Olofinjana, Quinn, Koren, Aluko, Simpson, Fryatt, McLean, Proschwitz, and own goal) Preston 2-0 Crewe Rochdale 2-1 Exeter If it's 1-1 Aluko I'll get 3 points (5 if I'd said 1-1 Aluko) If it's 1-1 with any other scorer I'll get 3 points (so no change) If it's 0-0, we lose to nil, or we win or lose with Aluko as our only scorer I'd get the same points either way (1, 0, and 2 respectively) If it's 2-2 or more with Aluko scoring them all I'll get 3 points (no change). If it's 2-2 or more with Aluko and (an)other scorer(s) I'll get 3, plus 2 points for each additional scorer (so minimum of 2 points better off) If we win with more than 1 scorer, or anybody but Aluko is our only scorer then I'll be 2 points better off for every scorer that isn't Aluko. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And the pain in the arse for the scoring is it means you have to look at each set of predictions after the game to work out the scores. As it is now I copy them all down in about 5 minutes, and then after the game just put the results into the spreadsheet and it does everything for me.
Wait a minute - I am right in thinking that the correct scorer prediction only applies if you get the result right too, aren't I? Otherwise I could just list every player in the squad...
Your scorers prediction has to match the scoreline you've predicted (ie you can't predict we'll score 2 goals with 5 different scorers), but that's the loophole I've been trying to get cleared up. If we're going to have points for the scorers it should only be after a 3 point prediction or it just encourages high scoring predictions, but that doesn't seem to be what's happening because Charlie said my initial 11-0 idea was fine. (If that does become the case then obviously my 1-1 Aluko becomes my prediction)
What if you predict we'll win 2-0 and we lose 3-2, but you get the scorers right? Is the goalscorer prediction a completely separate one from the result prediction?
All part of the same loophole, see my post above where I predict 27-27 for Saturday's game, I've gone through the permutations underneath. It's good when the only person who's been able to produce reliable tables regularly (this week's seem to be fine by the way), is having to question how the scoring system works.
IMO, Only if you get the correct scoreline/result SHOULD the City goal scorers come into play. Also, we should set a limit of 6 goals for City to score. Not that many if any on here would predict Hull City to score 6 or more anyway. Not even @ Peterboro or the FAC game with Orient. Surely that is a better way to do it having read Ricardo's recent posts/queries about it.
