3 trophies won by the biggest spending clubs in the Country last year ( 100 million for the League Cup ? )

Arsenal on a very sound financial footing.

Is football up the Khyber due to the the ridiculous amounts of money chucked in by gazillionaires who use clubs as their tax deductabe playthings ? Of course

Will "Fair Play " ever become reality? No

Style of play may be the only resolve for the non- playthings in future, and I agree, yours is not currently what has come to be expected from a Wenger team, but, Could you attract a better manager than Wenger ? Not likely

I think the general trend is Khyber bound.

Sure you will get the odd freak result but by statistical chance alone , the teams with the best/ most proven/therefore expensive players will rise to the top and the others will flounder mid table .

Depth of squad is all important .(in my opinion )

At last a post that looks at the facts and isn't pro-Wenger or anti-Wenger rhetoric. Sometimes this forum is so obsessed with "our finances" that we totally miss whats important, what the manager is doing with our team and how it's performing. I've said it before, most of the fans on this forum are stuck in the good old Wenger days, those days are long gone and so are the fantastic teams he used to produce. As for as i can see, the last top team he produced was in 08, which was 4 years ago and which won nothing. His best days are past him now and I too would advocate a move for him upstairs.

I'd call myself a Wenger supporter, but I don't agree with this sentiment.

I'm certainly not harking back to a golden age, I just think that Wenger, despite his flaws is still a brilliant manager and is still the best placed person to lead Arsenal at the moment. As mentioned, it's about the depth in our squad and we're still thin. I'd like to see what Wenger can do with the extra revenue that Emirates is bringing. If we're still in this position in a couple of seasons, then I think it will be time for a change.
