Hello there, does anyone here like the NFL?

If so, come on down to the American football forum, on not606 for some gridiron based fun.

    See you there!

No. I have no problem with it, I just think it's far too boring, but I think there are some guys here who do.

Not for me, thanks. <ok> I watch Rugby which is a bit more physical and interesting from my perspective anyway.

I mostly don't like it because there's no "flow" to it. It's too rigid. Rugby is a bit more tolerable as there you can at least get to see a longer action where players can somewhat improvise; but American Football is a string of carefully planned 2-3 second moves followed by 1 minute breaks (ad infinitum).

From a spectator's perspective it seems there's very little improvisation along the way which is what makes association football more enjoyable, or "beautiful", to many.

American football is just Americanised (not a good thing) Rugby League, which is not as good (imo) as Rugby Union, so no I'm not a fan.

Might be more entertaining than the current Arsenal performances though...

pompey - I'm a massive NFL fan, doesn't seem to be much discussion in here though, a couple of other forums have had their fair share of knobs and I struggle with access to some (inc here) from work.
I'm heading out to New York Thursday, going to new Meadowlands for the first time (Giants v Saints) which looks to be a shootout, hoping to get out there for the 2014 Superbowl.

Those who dislike the game, I can understand the stop/start angle but in many other other areas NFL is head and shoulders above football in thd way it's set up, run and managed - you'll never see anyone diving, feigning injury or a franchise buying themselves success, the draft and salary cap rules make sure it;s a level playing field, which is why there have been 12 different superbowl winners in the last 17 years...

Love it real men hitting each other really hard, started watching Montana and Rice the same season as we beat Liverpool to win the league. (49ers won the superbowl) might be a little complex for some of the faces on this board though.

Rugby, cricket, tennis, golf, ....., American football, .... other American bastardised sports, .... Olympics hop-skip-jump "athletics", cycling ...., darts, snooker, angling, ....... HATE THEM ALL.

Football - the only game in town, and I love it.
