Fans hate their manager, havn't won in 2! Abramovich will have a major conundrum to consider at the moment!

I say if there ever was a good time to hit Chelsea this is the time, even without Cattermole. The spirit of that club must be unknowable these days the number of managers they have been through. It's obvious Benitez isn't going to last, the player's are probably already aware of that. A sense of bemusement and confusion at Chelsea could be the catalyst required for a victory for Sunderland and on the march we go!

Maybe. On the other hand, they may come out fighting and smash you all over the place. You could be the catalyst required for them to kick start their season. An under performing Chelsea is much better than an under performing Sunderland.

That said, you beat them last season. Was a comfortable win too. Shocks can occur however I doubt it in this case.

There's always a 'coupon buster' every weekend. Sunderland v Chelsea could be the one. There will be a load of people putting Chelsea down for an away win at 4/5.

We need to score at least 2 then cos you can guarantee Torres will score.

If we go 2 upfront with Connor being 1 of them we can beat Chelsea but if we revert to type and attempt to play counter attacking footy I can see Chelsea,as normal, up here playing us off the pitch.

I'll bet the same point is being made on the Chelsea board about us.

In the end it will be which set of players wants the win the most. Do it for the manager or themselves?

In a fit of reverse psychology, I don't think we have a hope in hells chance of beating Chelsea and fully expect a handsome defeat.

In a more serious note, if a spluttering Chelsea who are all at sea actually thrash us on Saturday, and we struggle agaisnt Reading on Tuesday, then I fear for the managers position as the crowd will start turn imo at that point.

We need 4 points from the next 2 to show there is still life left here with Martin.

I think realistically C'est we have to be looking at 3 points. There's no way we'll beat Reading.

Seriously though it is a good time to play Chelsea, however I am sure they will be thinking the same about us.

It would be so like Sunderland to actually beat Chelsea, play really well and then lose to Reading 3 days later in a shambolic pile of ****e performance. Lol

To be fair, they could have said that about us for the last 40 years. Its been quite a while since we could say it about them.
