There will be a story if similar ilk in next Sundays papers. Sunday tabloids have their own rules when it comes to writing rubbish.

 

Of course it isn't Pardews fault. He has got the decision wrong in that he should have forced Demba to play left for the good of the team. Obviously Demba would leave but that is fine for me. However if Ba wasn't being awkward and going about it the wrong way there is no discussion to be had, therefore that is the catalyst not Pardew. Also you do realise that Redknapp released the details of his contract not Pardew? Don't for 1 minute think it wouldn't have been made public knowledge as the January window approached so Pardew was simply doing the right thing and preempting it and letting the fans know the score.

 

Three times more in a week than some family guys earn in a year seems a bit heavy, especially when it's some of those family guys that are helping to pay his salary.

Probably more greed from his agent looking for a bigger slice of the pie.

 

Pardew revealed that the clause is still around now, months after most people though it was gone. I made that clear in my post.

The difference is that those players are happy in the roles they're playing. If they weren't then they'd kick up a fuss in the same way that Ba has. It doesn't mean they're not playing for themselves. It's funny you mention Taylor and Rooney though, considering the trouble they've caused over their contracts in the past.

You admit there that Pardew got the decision wrong. This whole situation has arisen from Pardew not dealing with it properly. Not going to address the Redknapp thing as you're clearly just another person who can't read properly.

 

Apparently it's all a load of rubbish. The clause thing isn't Pardews fault, he's not dealt with the Cisse/Ba formation dilemma very well at all, but he is in no way to blame for the clause getting out. In fact due to the fact that it seems everyone in football knows about it, openly talking about the clause is actually for the best.

So you honestly think the existence of the clause was going to remain secret given how quickly it became public knowledge last time. Indeed nevermind public knowledge as that is really irrelevant in football terms. Circles within football is what counts and they would be well aware whether Pardew commented or not. Why? Because his agents and maybe even Ba himself would make sure they knew! Its beyond naive to think otherwise. So as previously noted Pardew commenting makes zero difference. Clearly I can read but you are somewhat naive to say the least.

Again I do think Pardew has got it wrong but I understand why, he's trying to keep his best players at the club. The bottom line is the catalyst is Ba not Pardew and that is where any blame lies because if he plays for the TEAM there is no discussion.

It may have remained secret, it may not. Either way it's better to wait and see rather than start blabbing about it in September like Pardew did. There was absolutely no reason to do that and it was completely unprofessional on Pardew's part, and certainly can't have helped his relationship with Ba.

The Newcastle United striker Demba Ba is yet to be persuaded to sign a new deal as the January transfer window approaches.

The 27-year-old Senegal international has rejected the club's latest offer as they attempt to negotiate out the release clause contained in his initial contract.

Despite concerted speculation during the summer, no suitor activated the £7.5m get-out which could have lured the former West Ham forward away from St James' Park.

However, while supporters heaved a sigh of relief that last season's leading scorer would be staying on Tyneside, the club's manager Alan Pardew revealed that the clause would become active once again next month.

Newcastle have been locked in negotiations with Ba's representatives for some time, but there is understood to be a significant gap between the wage deal the former are prepared to offer and that which the latter are willing to accept.

Newcastle are hopeful that the player, who has scored eight times this season, is happy to stay and he too has given little indication that he is looking to leave.

Pardew will hope for a breakthrough if he is to avoid a month of waiting anxiously to see if the former Hoffenheim player will remain within his grasp by the end of it.

In the meantime, he will hope Ba and compatriot Papiss Cissé can find the goals to fire the club out of their current Barclays Premier League slump as they head into Monday night's home match against Wigan Athletic looking to avoid a fifth successive defeat."

 

If I was Pardew I'd take Ba to one side and have a chat with him. If this is all true and he's unhappy I'd just say to him look I'll let you leave in January but make it clear to him that he has to put the effort in for the team in the meantime. Might actually boost his form further if he's playing for a move, plus he'll feel better if he knows he'll be allowed to go.

Don't be so naive buddy. It would have been common knowledge in football circles, just as it was last time. You can't trust agents, they have a vested interest in him moving regularly. It won't affect his relationship with Ba at all. Why would Ba be bothered, he knows it exists and he knows all Pardew is doing is letting the fans know it exists so they can prepare for the worst. As someone else noted it was maybe better to get it out in the open rather than have it fester behind the scenes. Certainly not unprofessional, its his player he can do as he pleases. Its unprofessional when others do like Redknapp.

 

The fans already prepare for the worst every window, there's no need to let us know about it as it'll just get people worrying even more.

It's unprofessional because it's releasing private details about someone's contract. That sort of thing is generally not done. By advertising the clause he's basically inviting people to come in and get him. It's not going to be nice for Ba to be treated like that.

 

That's the point, he isn't inviting anyone. They already know about it and will act if they want. We have no real say in the matter.

 

Whether it's known or not is irrelevant, as refreshing their memory in the way Pardew does nothing to help the situation, unless the aim is to get rid of the player.
