Haha I had ther n96 i ****ing hated it. The biggest parcel of ****e ever created. I also had it through 3 mobile which made it even worse as theIR customer service is atrocious. But i've used nokia for years and thought this must be a one off and i've had no problems since with the 6700c. I sold my n96 to envirofone and got £120 for it. I used this to buy out of my 3 contract early. NEVER EVER USE 3 MOBILE

    As for iTunes being ****e?

    How?

My Dad used to desperate to avoid iTunes (this is before he got his first iPod YEARS ago)...It's simple to use, easy to organise, quick, and clear...The only problem I can think of, is that it isn't compatible with the playstation so I couldn't directly send a soundbite of 'get your tits out' over for FIFA11!

Plus, you can get spotify for your iPhone anyway!

I'm a proper apple lover - got a macbook pro, ipod, iphone...At home we use a mac mini hooked up to the main tv instead of a freeview box!

    Love macs and love iPhones!

Was meaning more on principle, for all their stuff. It's possible to install mac osx on your own built system too but sorting it out is a big pain in the arse as well and, thanks to Apple, totally illegal. There are ways around it but at the bottom of it Apple want everybody to use their OS's via their own hardware only which is enormously overpriced, so its not worth my while to spend loads of money for essentially a shiny case with an apple on it. You can save a good £900 if you build the exact same computer that Apple are branding as a Mac Pro yourself (its not hard) and install a more versatile and reliable OS such as Ubuntu. If you spend the same amount you'll have an insanely good system.
I know this isn't what the every day person would be arsed to do but that's me!

My Mrs has an iPhone 4 and thinks it great, never had any problems with it.

I got HTC Desire HD and I think it's better, only thing if getting an HTC though is to make sure your tariff has unlimited interwebs it will use your allowance up in no time otherwise.

Anyone know if aginairrr made a desicion and got one in the end?

Well it has been purchased! iPhone 4, the handset was free and it is £40 a month for unlimited texts, 900 mins and pretty much unlimited internet, which is bad news for Jimiley because I can change my predictions at 2:59pm tomorrow!

If you must get an iphone, buy the phone seperately and get a cheaper contract. If you've got Virgin Broadband, you can get a great deal - unlimited texts, 200 mins and 1MB web. I've never got close to using that, it's £10.21 a month (stingy bastards made us pay for the VAT rise).

I think its just a cost thing. I've just got an HTC Desire S for free on an £18.50 contract (not a massive mobile user). If I wanted an iPhone 3GS on the same it would have cost me £150+, an iPhone 4 closer to £300. Having larked on with my brothers 2 iPhones (daft £70 contract, boys an idiot, some folk don't have mortgages to pay...) there's barely a difference. The iPhone app store is currently marginally better with bigger companies providing exclusively to Apple, but more and more is appearing on Android. As far as MP3 players, internet, use as a computer etc go they're near as much identical. All the 'you don't have an iPhone' TV ads I've seen so far list features that my phone has, so I'm not paying more for a ruddy Apple on the back (as someone who's watched two iPod batteries dwindle to nothing with no way to replace without sending them away I'm happy with that).

iPhone 4 is for the win never had a problem with mine and its amazing with all the things you can do. Miles better than a blackberry which lasts all of 10 seconds until you leave the shop and it breaks!!
