A few weeks ago, thought the Chelsea game would be a formality and was pretty much dreading the prospects of having to look at it. Not now though, bring em on. Can see us putting them out and progressing to within one round of Wembley. Could be an interesting second half to the season yet for us Leeds boys
Watched the Chelsea game out here today, they were poor, heads down, and the fickle Chelski fans baying for the Spanish waiters head.
We were being told we would get torn apart by high flying Everton, but look what happened . The league cup is like the championship, anyone can beat anyone
Must of been watching a different game to me then? BUT hang on i have spotted who you support and that means you do not have a clue over football having to watch that lot, thats if you do go by the way
never mind Chelsea, thats just a light diversion - BRING ON DERBY! Based on the Leicester game highlights, we will rip their defence to shreds Four in a row is the objective. Now, that would be statistically significant. (Probability of a "mid table" team winning 4 on the trot - approximately 1%. So win 4 games on the trot and that tells me we are no longer playing like a mid table side.
So you've run the stats and teams finishing mid table in the past have only managed to win 4 on the trot 1% of the time?
Yup, I worked on it all over last weekend, stayed up until 3 in the morning. Alternatively, I might have made it up If you want a justification, in the last 3 seasons (including this) the mid table teams have averaged a win rate of 36.8% (remarkably consistent each season, btw). So the chance of a mid table team winning a specific set of 4 games (not any set of 4 games, at any time in the season, I mean one specific set of 4) is 0.368 x 0.368 x 0.368 x 0.368 = 1.8% - which is exactly not the number I did not guess, and is answering a slightly different question to the one I introduced before - but don't get picky with me. The more serious point is that we all tend to get carried away when we win a couple of games, even though the odds of winning a couple of back to backs during a season occasionally are not that low (about a 1 in 7 chance for a specific pair of fixtures, so over a season of 46 games it should happen a few times to most mid table sides). But, win 4 (or preferably more than 4) and it starts to look like something that might be real.
Wonder how many more managers they'll try out before coming to Elland Road. Mr personality Avram Grant seemingly next or maybe have two or three at the one time. Looks a good time to have them visiting
As Andy Warhol once said, "Everyone is manager of Chelsea for 15 minutes" (not original, someone said it on 5Live this morning)
