Yeah, lets all react to every result with a shrug as we're not as consistent as the Mighty United 3-2 Reading currently...
I made Rafael as my captain for the Fantasy team this week. Figured Fellaini and Bale were due a quiet week, whilst there's not telling if Tevez will play. "Surely United will get a cleansheet against Readling?" I thought, funny old game and double minus points for me.
I know what you mean YV sometimes changing and thinking about it too much costs you. I forgot to change and still had Defoe as my captain. I definitely got lucky today!
And DL on another thread you are slating Spurs saying fans of all London clubs hate us? I would place a lot of money that Chelsea are the most hated club in London. Arsenal/Spurs would be a distant second. Apart from Chelsea fans no one likes Chelsea or even has a "soft spot" for them. A truly appalling club with the worst fans ever.
Decent post DL I think you look at it the wrong way, the league isn't weaker, its stronger. Lots of teams are playing great football now and on their day are beating top sides. This rarely happened before, when the league was weak...bar 4 teams. A close run thing is exactly what we want isn't it. I'm sick of the old days of basically a rotating 2 out of 4 battling it out year on year.
I'd say its a bit of both. The lesser teams have got stronger but ultimately the best teams (Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool & Arsenal) have got weaker which is why English teams are struggling in the Champions League and why so many shocks have happened recently in the Premier League.
Why are our fans thinking of 3rd or 4th place? 2nd or even 1st might be nice.We might not get there but keep thinking nice things............ Even Arsenal thought themselves kings of SE London until they found out where the real kings were.......and moved next door!
Where did I slate Spurs? I did say fans of all other clubs hate Spurs (from my experience) yes but I've said the same for Chelsea too and you could most probably add Millwall to that list. I struggle to see your point here. Your 2nd point simply isn't true. Outside of London there are a lot of people that prefer Chelsea due to the United gloryhunters they have in their local towns. Just recently a Chelsea member on here met up with a Swansea fan before and exchanged a few drinks with the Swansea fan saying Chelsea was the best of the London support. I've heard the same things off Wolves fans as well amongst other non-London clubs.. Anyway I'm not here to cause an argument just here to say well done on your start and how silly it was to write you off.
Do you really think so Notso? I was discussing this with my best mate and he said the same thing. United today conceded 3 goals quicker than they ever have before, Chelsea heaviest defeat against West Ham in 24 years, Liverpool worst start since X years, Arsenal losing at home to Swansea. Chelsea haven't won in 7 games yet still find themselves 3rd, is that really signs of a strong league? Similarly QPR haven't won in any of their first 15 games, a record which would see a team relegated in normal circumstances but QPR still have a realistic chance of staying up. I'd say a strong league is Bundesliga. High quality of football and a league which can be won by realistically any 1 from 6/7.
Ok I can't argue with that DL! Cheers and thanks for your nice comments earlier. I had a few beers earlier watching the rugby/football and got a bit emotional! Ha ha!
I think the middle of the table is stronger which is why we're seeing them sneaking into the top 6. At the bottom end there are the teams that are stuggling to keep with the pace the whole game and lack the quality to paper over it.
Come on lads, you're beginning to sound like kids. "Our car can go faster than your car" when you argue about who has the best or worst supporters. "Ours are better than yours nyah." Come on lads, stop it. District, you're third but on a downward spiral 10 points off the top. You were four points clear. Another couple of defeats for you and wins from those just behind and you are in the EL places.
Sorry Thor I read that thread on the general discussion about the most hated clubs and after a few beers I couldn't help but react! If we can avoid defeat at Everton then I am very confident we can finish top 4 this season. Although we will miss Bale against Everton away it may not be such a loss as him missing against other teams. With Adebayor coming back Dempsey can slot in on the left and that was where he was most effective for Fulham last season.
I mean overall DL, more teams have improved than top teams have 'weakened' as you put it, clutching for straws, the number of superstar names in these top teams has been enough to dominate the league over the course of a season in the past. You should also look at the spread of points over the last few seasons and look at the league as a whole, instead of your cocoon at the top thats been your only concern, what with that and your self pitying tale of woe, grizzling because everyone is closing the gap on half the money...dry your eyes whingebag!
In my time watching Spurs,it wasn't hate.It was admiration. They could automatically make fans leave their comfortable chairs to just to be able to say,"I saw those Spurs today",wherever they played!
Yes cracker,I've already said something similar but I don't expect to win it. A draw would suit and a win over Swansea who are no mugs at the moment. If we can do that then some good results should come and we can cement a top 4 slot. A win at Everton would be brilliant but they are doing very well.
Had Hugo played, instead of the 41 year old, picked by that clown AVB (at that time, thank god he's learned since) you wouldn't have won, I'm sure about that you were gifted that game by stupid decisions by our manager luckily, he's got the idea about Prem football now.
AVB must be given a chance to settle into the PL and at the mo his decisions shouldn't be grilled so much.
