Don't worry their fans were just as thick and hypocritical at the ground. Made me laugh they were always calling fr handball, at least 7 or 8 times, we had one shout and they start taking the piss "hand ball, handball". Then them singing "it's all gone quiet over there" and "you're ****", moments later mcshane scores (ironically with a handball ) then we didn't hear a peep from them from then on. There were many more stupid things they came out with and all...
I don't think anyone on that forum has watched us this season. Not surprising given our covered on the FLS I suppose.
One or two of you on here seem to be blaming Bruce or Chester for the penalty ,well if you actually watch the game before casting aspersions on two of our very fine defenders you will see it was Brady who gave away the pen . Also you will find it was these two who got Mcshane out of jail for a couple of red mist moments in an otherwise good display . Just get behind the team UTT !!!!!
I was right in front of the penalty and it was a penalty! Billy Sharp was going nowhere, with his back to goal, and just getting to ball, Brady just put his arm in the way of Sharp, so he decided to go down like a tonne of bricks.
I saw that earlier today. If we're 4th and we're ****, what does that make Forest?! Before we played Wolves a bloke on their forum said that they did better against 'footballing sides', and so we'd probably bully them off the pitch and beat them. This despite the fact we have a team of ****y midgets whose football, according to impartial reporters, is at times 'fantastic'. Another Forest poster said today that he expected Matty Fryatt to score against them as usual. He's been out for over 3 months. People just don't know anything about us. At the end of the day, when we're away from home I expect us to set up defensively, with our attacking players utilising their ability to counter-attack effectively. If that gets 3 points, it's evidence of good tactics and good team selection by a manager who knows his squad, yet for some reason it always attracts negativity and criticism from opponents who feel that they deserved to win on the basis that they had more corners and possession. Forest didn't have a shot on target today and yet, according to some of their fans, deserved to win the match The posters on this board aren't really in a position to talk though, they said pretty much the exact same thing about Peterborough after they beat us 3-1
I wouldn't read too much into some people not knowing everything about us, I was asking about majewski today, not everyone knows everything about every other club in the league.
Can't understand the criticism of our defenders on this thread, if anything they are all playing out of their skin, Paul Mcshane is more like Paul Mcgrath now and we have Hobbs to come back- too negative by far lets back the lads instead of nitpicking- fantastic result today UTT
I was delighted, as I'm sure you know really. Of course, when he nearly gave away an equaliser on 3 separate occasions I was a bit concerned, and when I noticed he'd once again started claiming nominations on the motm thread for doing OK-ish I found that a bit irritating, but his goal was quite pleasing. God knows how they do it. Bolasie I think it was who won their first today managed to boot the keepers shoulder, go down and win a pen. It's no wonder they've had about 20. Their crowd made it perfectly clear to the ref when they wanted someone booking. Rosenior kicked the ball away in a pretty silly, professional way but an away player at the KC would have got away with it but they went mad waving their arms and sure enough the ref couldn't ignore it. We need to be dong this at the KC so we start getting our own way a bit more. Stockdale got booked for time-wasting but he wasn't really slowing it down just not rushing, it was the way their fans made a fuss about it though so he got booked. Meyler's booking was very soft, he actually got booked for a challenge in which he lost the ball, ie he was the player being tackled. I have absolutely no idea why Brady got booked though. I've seen it back a couple of times now and I don't see where the handball claim comes from at all. It was a very poor game overall, I think there were only 3 real chances in the game and they all went in. Koren up front is an utterly pointless idea. It's like playing with 10 men, he just can't get in the game and I feel sorry for him because it isn't his fault, he's not a striker so he has no idea where to be at the right time like a striker would, the amount of times the ball trickles past him or bounces over his head is ridiculous. Either get him in midfield or if there's no room drop him, no point keeping him in there on prestige if there isn't a place for him. Meyler needs to man the **** up, he's a total jessie. We used him as our main target man today at some goal kicks and he just watched it travle 90 yards to him before moving out the way and letting the defender have it. He shows no urgency either. Evans is the opposite, he's got that determination and effort but lacks the skill to keep the ball, if we could combine the two we'd have a great player.
I think Brady was actually booked for going for a 50-50 tackle which he lost, but fairly. It got absolutely stupid.
We picked up a whole host of stupid yellow's yesterday, though Rosie's was more a tapping of the ball, than a hoof, he only kicked it a few feet and it really didn't warrant a yellow(though it was probably down to the more general time wasting). It was a **** performance, in a **** game, with a **** atmosphere, though at least we won. I'll be happy if we don't get any more aways like that this season.
City seemed comfortable without coming out of third gear yesterday but Forest were dire. Even when they were putting pressure on at the end they didn't look like scoring. Their penalty was also a farce. Sharp seemed to change his mind a couple of times before deciding to go down, no-one in the ground appealed yet the ref swallowed it. I think some of our late bookings might have been down to the ref trying to even things out after missing McShanadonna's hand of God.
