I regret mine, I wish I'd just got one on my shoulder. I like the stray cat, but not the others and on reflection, I wish I'd put more thought into it. Still, I was only 15/16 and it's not like it's permanent.
for a few years ive wanted to get a song lyric , but always a bit wary of getting lettering done - ive seen even recent tatts look messy when it comes to text/lettering . where u going ? it it local to Hull ?
no mate, i live nr Huddersfield and it's a shop in Denby Dale. a friend had some text from a reading at his dads funeral inked on his ribs and it's absolutely crystal clear, very tidy work.
Can't say I've seen the Tattooist in Denby Dale, where abouts is it? My mate lives on Barnsley Rd ( I have no doubt what so ever that you will know him, because every time I go out there, everyone knows each other !)
I had to sit next to him on Tiger Travel once. My mates kept on taking the piss by texting me to put my arm round him and give him a hug.
I moshed with him on the concourse at Wigan away in the relegation season, plus about 20 other big daft blokes. Me and my mate (pissed up) trying to get involved and getting SOAKED in beer. I don't remember him speaking, just grinning insanely and shoving me about. Brilliant fun it was.
To be honest I just could not be bothered and I am glad that I didn't. If I had a butterfly done on my back when I was 18. It would be the size of a ****ing eagle now.
it's off the main road down a side street, basically a private studio in some geezers living room but he's really sharp. i live in Skelmanthorpe, lovingly called amongst locals as 'Shat'. not that descriptive cause it's quite nice. yeah, round here we all know each other, we're nearly all sleeping with each other too.
The singing got a bit boisterous, and a load of blokes were jumping up and down chucking beer on each other. So we did too.
Trouble is when we got ours done Lammy man there was about 6 colours if that and outlines where too thick . Not many people had tattoos back then before it became the ' in thing ' Arthur didn't have any competition either as anyone else trying to open a shop had a visit from a couple of his " friends " Arthurs son still works in Scarborough and I was telling him the other day how I remember when he was a little nipper running about in his dads shop... Remember the bloke who had a Christmas Card on his back ? He use to take his shirt off when it was christmas and saved having to buy anyone a card.. King Cod or a Black Panther was about as good as it got as far as designs went... I had a girlfriend called Erica , I was about 14 / 15 Arthur must have stuck her name on me about 25 times for going to the shops for him ...
Got a couple of tattoos done about 13 years ago, find them pretty boring now and wouldn't bother having any more. Prefer smaller tatts to the great big ones and not keen on chav ones like arse antlers etc.
I shared a taxi with Les, many years ago ( he was living on Bransholme at the time) We walked down to BeeLine Taxi office on Bev Rd. It seemed back then, there where only 3 taxi's in Hull, as, it took forever for your taxi to arrive. We had been in Silhouette (not in the same company) on a midweek night (downstairs was closed). And while we were waiting, he was warning me off experimenting with Class A drugs. I could hardly afford the cab home , let alone dabble in space drugs. I could go on and on, but I quite fancy another Jack Daniels Honey ! ( got a sore throat........)
I don't like the same things that I liked this morning. I think getting a tattoo would be a mistake...
I hate all tattoos - I think they look ****. Can't see why anyone would want them when 10 years on they look like someone has been flicked with an ink pen by a small child. Fashion today and regret tomorrow.
My brother and I both got the City emblem tattooed on our left shoulders here in Melbourne when we got promoted a few seasons back. We both then travelled to Hull for the season opener against Fulham and one of my favourite photo's of all time is of a photo we took of both of us with Aunty (in her 80's), with the three of us standing together with sleeves rolled up, Aunty in the middle with a transfer/fake tattoo we got from the club shop - a classic! I more recently had an Anarchist symbol (anarcho-syndicalism actually), tattooed on my chest.
I have just the one. But it's a beauty! The strange thing about tattoos is, although they hurt a bit, they are strangely addictive and I would have another one done if I only knew what to have? I had this done in the August of our Premier League debut.
