    Wigan, Fulham and QPR.

Three games, and three results we have to get. Wigan and QPR more so, if we fail to do so we're in dire, dire straights. If anyone can say that we're not in any relegation troubles what so ever at this point, then they've got there head so far up there own arse that they simply cannot see the league table.

Do not mistake this for an overly pessimistic thread, because equally if we DO get results from these games, I'm sure we'll be safe and a top ten finish is back on track. But it is imperative that we get some points on the table soon! Pardew's subs and general performance today was pretty dire, and the fact that once again we lost a lead in the last ten minutes of the game personally brings my piss to a boil.

When this season ends, and if we have survived. We need to look out there and see all our options both on the pitch and in the back. See what players and managers are available and fully access the situation. If we survive by the skin of our teeth, that's not good enough. And Pardew for me, will still need to go. Greame Souness mark 2 is not wanted thank you very much.

While I may get called a pessimistic fool, or this is just a knee jerk these are my beliefs and these are beliefs I had before the game. Mock if you will, I will stand by them.

We should survive, I just hope the players we target will come to us, in a very different position to what we were in the summer!

I'm sick of honest opinions being disregarded as 'knee jerk' reactions myself mate. Although I think Pardew needs at least the January window, his tactics are clearly poor and I seriously question his man management and motivational skills.

It is a fact that we're in relegation form, and nothing I have seen lately suggests that will change. We need to spend seriously in January or I can see us in big trouble.

People may well come on here and ridicule this, and similar opinions but the simple fact is that the pesimism is based on facts and results, and the 'positivity' is simply naive.

Had a positive feeling about most of our games, but the dreams didn't become reality.

I don't like the idea that we're talking about "survival". We can still do much better than that.

We get Hatem Ben Arfa back on monday, hopefully we can get 7pts vs Wigan, Fulham and QPR, which would give us 21 before 2013. We have City, Arsenal and United soon as well.

If we do hit a little bit of form, I think we can take a point off City who haven't been great on the road.

We can start to rebuild in January. Everton are quite often around the bottom 3 come January, then start playing around Feb and shoot up the table.

Both Wigan and Fulham wont be push overs and "Arry" will have QPR players fired up.

Wigan will be threatening, but we should be able to beat them. Fulham have been a bit hot and cold.

QPR will definitely be a better side than they have, but watching them, they lack a bit of cutting edge. They can't do anything to improve their quality in the final 3rd until January, so we play them at the right time I think.

    We really need 6 pts.

It wouldn't surprise me really if we beat City and lost vs QPR. LOL

My thoughts in 2009 and look what happened! To solve a problem, we must face it.

I don't think anyone likes the fact that we're talking about a relegation battle, but we need to face facts. Until we see evidence of us climbing the table then we have no business thinking we're too good for the drop.

I as much as anyone, hope that we look back on this spell at the end of the season and laugh it off as a blip.

What really would surprise me is if we take any more than 4 points from the next 3 games, and City don't maul us.

Why must we win them? What we did so well last season was took it game by game, and focused on winning that one. So for me, there's no "must win" - just a view that we could win every game.

I don't expect NUFC to finish in the Champs League, and as we can all see, qualifying for Europe with a tight-a$$ for an owner means less than nothing. So I've given up and will just approach every game with optimism and enjoy that 90 mins. Hell, if we go down, what's the problem? That Championship season was great fun, and isn't that what it's all about? Just look at Chelski - 10 years ago or so, ask them what they want and they'd be like us - decent league place and maybe a cup or two. Now look at them - bitching and moaning when they struggle in Champions League fixtures watching Hazard, Oscar and Mata!! When does it end? Man City fans all bemoaning their situation, yet just 6 months ago they were involved in THE most thrilling season climax ever.

Football has embraced money in the saddest possible way - there's never enough, of anything. It's pathetic.

Are you claiming I should just "Take every game as it comes" and not care that the team performs **** and the manager has proven hopeless? Not every Championship season is like the one we had, look at Boro. I don't want that and refuse to accept it. They are must wins because this time around, we don't have players who will stick with us through relegation, they'll leave and we'll struggle. Your blind ignorance to the troubles ahead is deafening.

Ovely pessimistic people are a problem I agree with the general theme of your thread, but overly optimistic people are just as bad. "The championship is fun!" Is a dreadful way of thinking about it. Because next time, it might not be fun.

Hi Guys - I'm a Fulham fan who lives near Morpeth.

Like us you're having a bad patch. We've got injuries and Haangeland suspended - so we know why. If you are missing BenArfa (injury?) then that makes a big difference to your creativity.

I hear loads of folk talking about relegation, but I think it's exaggerated - there are 4 or 5 teams in a much worse state than you AND MORE IMPORTANT no obvious way of getting out of it.

Face facts - last season, you would have been happy with mid table - accept that this year and build.

    Thanks for your comments.
Right now I'll face facts, and the fact is we're hopeless at set pieces, the manager's tactics are horrible and insists on hoof ball, and the fact is we're the #1 long ball team in the league by a mile(yes by a mile over #2 Stoke) and we're ****e. So we have reason to be worried.
