Pleased with last nights result and can't believe where we're sat in the table. It's makes good reading, especially after all the injuries.

I'm not too concerned about the late goals, I think we'll soon see that these come to an and. We've been chopping and changing our back 5 (keeper included) all season. 1 min we've got brad in goal, next it's Hugo. Then there's verts and naughts swapping at left back, and a different CB partnership in every game. AVB's clearly made Hugo no1 now, so hopefully this'll help with stability. When we have Kaboul and benny back, I expect this problem to stop.

Liverpool were unlucky from what I've seen, but we've had plenty of games in the past where we've dominated possession and lost. Just gotta take your chances.

My sky app says we had 35% of possession. What has happened to us?! That's the concern for me at the moment, we're not dominating games like we used to, especially at home.

My theory is that AVB has realised our strength and attacking potential and is encouraging a more open style, more like Harry. Trouble is he does not have the experience in playing that way so he is learning as well.

I thought Sandro did not have too good a game last night, you can't be on top form all the time, but Parker being available would be a great asset to have right now. And Kaboul!

My concern is our passing when under pressure,Walker and Daws especially, gave the ball away in our own end, creating more pressure.

I think Defoe gave possession away more than anyone, many of their build-ups started there, terrible game, it was his loss that led to Hendersons open goal miss (we won't talk about wtf Lloris was doing!!) though he wasn't alone, a good few others had difficulty spotting white shirts. Movement was poor, many times players like Vertonghen were throwing there arms up looking for something. Bad performance, despite some clueless observation further up here! <whistle>, but happy to pick up points playing badly...not a normal trait for us, we usually get punished!

The MOTD commentator was bloody useless, never spotted Downings poor defending for the first (sky did) and I could not believe he didn't spot Agger hooking the ball back two yds out of play when Suarez volleyed over (sky did) he thought Pool were ...unlucky!?!? <doh>

Hi Roo, we dominated against West Ham, it was always going to be difficult to dominate possession v Pool as they outnumbered us in the mid, and Rodgers game is all about possession. They only played one striker, and even he is a very mobile one who moves about all over the place.

the problem for pool, with their approach, is scoring goals. if they had a more conventional front man alongside Suarez they'd lose some/a lot of possession, but they'd probably score more goals, and get more points overall.

OGs are their second highest scorer, and last night showed why.

We had a very attacking line up with Bale Lennon Dempsey and Defoe being four forward players essentially. We lost the mid because of that, but got the goals as well.

Liverpool deserved at least a point out of that, but suddenly when pool play well and don't win there's coverage everywhere. I've lost count how many games over the last few seasons we played well and didn't win. ManU play poorly and win and nobody bats an eyelid. As for the two "pens" claim, obviously they're debatable, but yet again when something goes against pool they get all the coverage, yet where was the similar coverage of our away game against Stoke last season, one of the worst ref performances of all time? Where was the coverage of the four, yes four, goals we had disallowed against Lazio? It's this sense of "entitlement" that seems to surround pool (probably in the media more than their fans) that really annoys me.

Gallas touched the ball first so no penalty.

And it was a great tackle from Dembele on Gerrard, who took the ball cleanly and was just stronger than SG.

i can see why rogers thought they both were from the touchline. but after viewing a replay, Dembele's was a superb tackle and Gallas' would have been v harsh.

Yep, Rodgers can have a moan, I don't think either were pens, but it sounds like a season's worth of frustration is boiling over.

Disrespect Liverpool as much as you want but there's a lot of posts and threads about the win last night isn't there? It means more to us than we care to let on imo to beat Liverpool.

Given their saddo fans have to stoop to hitting dislike on the entire post history of anyone who dares speak ill of the version of their club that they believe is true (in other words, people who don't want to lie to themselves about Liverpool's standing) twisting the knife is justifiable...

We had 48% overall - Sky seem to think the last five minutes is all that matters (which, going by their coverage, is about right...)

Let's put it this way: I had two red bars this morning (all from Davidako - I checked), and suddenly that jacked up to where it is now. So, yes, the bitter little crybabies can have a little abuse.

The likes of gaf71, Bringbackfootie and Davidako have done for Liverpool what Holte Legends did for Villa on Old 606 - made beating them a lot more satisfying.

BBC Football are usually way out with their Possession stats, Sky use OPTA like everyone else as they're the best. Territory wise we had 49% suggesting we got the ball forward a lot quicker, which of course we all know.
