I love the fact that some people have so much free time they are finding pics on teh net of the incident, analysing it and then posting it up on here. Get a life boys!!!
Yes I know that Forza but you forget the light system doesn't exist from that yellow light alllllllllllllllllllllllll the way down the straight to the green light at the end before the overtake don't you know? please log in to view this image Seb overtook in sector MS4 which is post 5 and 6's job (both giving green), not post 4 which is in control of the end of sector MS3. Look carefully, See the post after that yellow light?, there is no light system to keep the dash updated no matter the situation. The reason why it went out the lap before is because the light system was showing green instead of yellow which disabled it, flags on sensorless posts cant change the dashboard. please log in to view this image Did you also know it was a green light on that corner in laps 3 and 5 but by "surprise" it was yellow on lap 4 when Seb overtook in the green flagged zone. I don't care what the Spanish papers say, they're trying to stir **** when there isn't any to stir with. Drivers follow the marshals over the light system, flaws in it's design is evident right here as it would of done the same crap at turns 4 and 5 where you go by 2 marshal posts before even getting to another light system...
How about I make a whole new thread for a Vettel vs Alonso fanboi off? Anyone who tries to spread it into the classroom will be sent to the headmaster.
And also Forza for a minute ignore the light system for a second. What would be the reason for the yellow flag in sector MS4? Do you actually see anything on the straight that is a hazard to warrant even a yellow flag at that part? That whole straight had nothing wrong with it, that's why it was classified green by the marshals on post 5 as that is the automatic response to a yellow flag in sector MS3. The yellow light in MS3 has no jurisdiction for sector MS4, it's warning is pointless since Seb is already out of that zone. I don't care what Alonso's mate says as its clearly obvious he has no ****ing clue what he is on about with regards to the layout of the track and the (rules) his view is biased beyond belief that his buddy Alonso got screwed over... It's very likely the reason why that light was yellow on lap 4 is to disable the DRS system for safety reasons since it was chucking it down at that point, laps 3 and 5 were clearer at that point. The DRS line was in sector MS3 as well so it looks more like a message to the drivers in the middle of the corner: Green light/DRS active, Yellow light/ DRS disabled. After post 5 with waving green flags, that flashing yellow meant **** all, it's as blunt as that! This is the actual sector layout with the marshal posts, see how Post 5 comes after the yellow light which was showing green, Seb overtakes in that green zone so it is not an illegal overtake. please log in to view this image I'm done arguing about it now, I know I am right as I was a flag marshal myself and many other flag marshals over the internet agree with me as that is the way the track is organised. The dashboard is wrong! because it's limitation to not being able adjust to the green organic wooden flag at post 5 that has no light sensor like post 4 did.... Aliens 2: "GAME OVER MAN!!! GAME OVER!!!!" please log in to view this image P.S: Found out the reason for Yellow flag was because of a wrecked Williams at turn 3, green flag 250 meters further down was telling him (all clear) as would any marshal post would after an incident, nothing was wrong with the straight after that. That's why DRS was disabled because Marshals were on that part of the track and disabled it for safety reasons! Legal overtake 100% where Seb did it! P.P.S: If you look at Sebs helmet you can see his direction of sight is slightly to his left and then back to forward, he knew the green flag was there because he saw it himself!
Well I'm not sure I'd go that far... But yeah. But anyway, weren't the marshals good at Brazil this year?
I'm not passing judgement but that 'overtaking under yellows' issue appears to be rumbing on... http://www.yallaf1.com/2012/11/29/ferrari-consider-protest-over-vettels-title-win/
Sky Sports News show the incident clearly. Yes, there is a green flag AHEAD of Vettel, but he passes Vergne BEFORE he reaches it, so still in the yellow zone. No argument, he made an error because he was under pressure to get through the field, and he was about to hit the slow part of the circuit so wanted to move up before the next turn. If Ferrari protest - and let me assure you had it been the other way round Vettel would be screaming his head off to protest - then Vettel will lose the title, and rightly so as he did break a serious racing rule. Is it good for the sport to do this? Yes, but it should have been resolved in Brazil, except at the end of the race Red Bull really sold the win to the watching media, and the FIA bottled it.
For my 2 cents.... It looks like Vettel broke the rule (a serious one at that) but to change the result now (a big result at that) would be embarrasing for the sport. I would love Alonso to win the WDC but not like this. This is the stewards fault for not even investigating it during the race. shame on them!!! <grrr>
