One of my favourites by them, was on MoTD last year and I think would get the crowd going. It builds up nicely, but I think it should be an instrumental version, no lyrics. The German Techno clapping crap that made the old people wet in the crotch was ****ing awful, the person that came up with the idea of us walking out to that should have a pint of Silver Nitrate and sit in the corner.
German techno clapping crap? The only clapping one a I remember was the one that was like the Thunderbirds music Is that what German techno is like?
What about the old Boothferry Park music ? Tiger Rag by Les Paul and Mary Ford ! Always got the crowd going ! !
Les Paul and Mary Ford version of Tiger Rag was not recorded until 1952.Tiger Rag was played at Boothferry Park in the 40's. Are you saying that the Les Paul/ Mary Ford rendition superceded the earlier version?
I posted a suggestion with my first ever post just before the start of the season. It was a rewording of "Nothing's gonna stop us now". It didn't seem to have wide appeal but that's OK, I said I'd have another go sometime. I really like the suggestion from StanIsTheMan to use the "Spoonful" song by The Rats. Especially with them being from Hull. Once again I have done a bit of rewording but I think it works - but I suppose that's for others to judge. So here goes, try singing it to the clip downloaded by Stan. I think it's the right kind of upbeat tempo to allow it to be sung at any time during the game and not just as a pre-game song. (I'm still pretty computer illiterate - apologies - or I would have copied it here myself. Maybe someone else can copy the words next to that clip). Greetings from Melbourne. 39 degrees celcius here today - and NO this suggestion is not a result of heat stroke!! Could be a spoonful of diamonds Could be a spoonful of gold All I need is a goal from you To satisfy my soul So wild about that So wild about that So wild about that Everything's all right about City (MUST ADMIT TO NOT REALLY MAKING OUT THE ORIGINAL LYRICS IN THIS PART BUT THIS SEEMED TO FIT) Let's go Let's go Let's go now! Gotta be the black and the amber Gotta be the stripes of the Tiger All I need is a goal from you To satisfy my soul THEN FOLLOWED AGAIN BY - "So wild about" and "Let's go". IF YOU DO SEE ANY MERIT IN THIS, FEEL FREE OF-COURSE TO MESS ABOUT IT WITH IT YOURSELF. FOR EXAMPLE, MAYBE MOVING THE SECOND VERSE WITH THE REFERENCE TO "BLACK AND AMBER" TO THE FRONT. IN ANY CASE I'LL BE HAPPY TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS WHATEVER THEY MIGHT BE.
Of-course if you really just want something short and sharp for the pre-game/ players walking out bit, have a listen to the intro of Led Zeppelins "Rock 'n' Roll".
Think it's Nike that used this recently... This could even work as an instrumental... Or imagine the whole East Stand playing the air sax... or we could go with this to get Big Nick settled in and scoring goals.... (I know he's Austrian, but it's German singing)
On a random note, Baker Street reminds me of this:
