He wasnt lucky, his 1st challenge was a booking but he got away with it. He then backed off when he did get booked so its safe to assume he wouldnt have been sent off because he wouldnt have got stuck in so much if he was booked early on, hes not Diakite! He didnt have 5 bookable offences 1 for studs up challenge and 1 for persistent fouling.
This has to be the biggest fear. I think we will sort ourselves out defensively but I don't see a lot of goals in the current team.
Can't believe the minute nit picking that goes on every game, what a load of b******s. Harrys only been in the job 2 days and one of those was spent travelling. Traore lost his man once? Is that really a comment worth saying?! Does anyone on here play football? I thought we played really well in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd minute, struggled a bit in the 4th and 5th, then picked up again..... FFS.
Maybe he was having a ´Paul Scholes´ moment but he was lucky and the ref was over-patient with him, maybe he was becoming a little frustrated. But take nothing away from Danny Rose MOM!! - hope HR whispered that he would be playing for him next year!!!
Not sure you're cut out for a football forum mate, spouting a load of bollocks after a match is what they are for
Lack of firepower upfront, can be put down to the ineptitude of Hughes. He let Heidar go and brought in Zamora, one a colossus in the air and a real trier the other, well neither of these.Good old Helgy is still banging em in at Cardiff,he would be the perfect foil for Cisse. He also let DJ go out to Ipswich, and he's started to knock em in at a struggling team.Even Hulse has scored 3 times in recent weeks at Charlton! To let all these front men go with no recall clause on any of them until January was clueless,Johnson always had the possibility of getting injured again, and Zamora's recent record in the injury department is also telling. That left us with just Cisse as our only out and out striker,if he doesn't start firing in the next few games it is indeed hard to see where the goals are gonna come from.Just gotta hope that others like Mackie and Adel can score a few until Harry can bring in a striker or two in the window!
Nothing wrong with the general assumptions or cols summary, which was good. It was some of the little stuff like a player getting past traore once, which was deemed a worry?!! My opinion is that we looked like a team who took things back to basics and our main goal was a clean sheet. That was very important for us. So many games have been lost because we conceded early in a game. Which not only made us ripe for plucking on the counter, it also put extra pressure on our forwards who then had to score 2 at least to win. We need the team to believe that 1 goal could get us 3 points. Keeping a clean sheet also gives us the chance to lead in a game which then forces the opposition to come onto us, allowing more space behind. We will then suddenly see more chances coming our way as they push up.....
I was using this as an example, to bring a level upon Traore performance because realistically he wasn't under pressure and when he was he failed but the point I was making he didn't attack the ball as having played right and left back through a lot of my meagre footballing abilities it a sin, and if you had ever played football in a defence you will know this. Seein this is worthy of comment IMO and I'm betting Harry will mention it to him as well. If you have something constructive to say please comment and we can enter into debate (though it will have to be quick I'm out of the country for the next week) otherwise please jog on, you don't have to comment or read but if you do try and make it amusing or constructive.
Come on guys Arry' was only with them for 2 days prior to this game. It's pretty impressive that there were any improvements at all. I think we'll get better every game now. There were occasions where we got more attacking players in the box than we have all season, that's clearly a change he wants to implement. Even without a decent striker, once the team get comfortable cramming 6+ players in the box every attack, we'll start to get goals.
I nearly fell off my chair when we had 4 in the box for a cross, I thought it was a FK if you got any more than 1 in the box in open play!
They are quite right. I'm not sure that all five or sex fouls before his yellow were bookable, but some were, and the 3-4 cumulatively warranted a yellow. We couldn't afford to lose him to a yellow!
Excellent post. And a spot on summary by Col. I'm wondering whether Harry will do the impossible and get something out of SWP by playing him more centrally.
Totally agree with all that. We are SOOOOOOO lucky to have TF and his co-shareholders. He's given us so much of what we have been hoping for over the last n years and then, from some of our most fickle supporters, he gets no gratitude and, ffs, some abuse!
Look above this original quote and you'll see i have been constructive. And no Harry won't mention you're trivial point to traore, he'll have much more important things to talk about this week. The coaches might mention it if he constantly does it in training maybe, but that's about it!
Does anyone else feel that Harry might have gotten last nights team wrong? I would have gone with the same team that was beating Utd (up step Mark Bowen to undo it all) with Granero straight in for Faurlin. Its all just a matter of opinion of course.
