Very good to see some great judgement by the jocks today. I thought Paddy Brennan on Until Winning and AP on Cantlow could have been excused for getting more stuck into their mounts but have really exercised good judgement on recognising when they were not going to make it a race and allowing the horse come home without too much pressure. Being a flat man at heart i still really enjoy good quality jumping but always feel very disillusioned when watching Jocks without judgement (Chepstow welsh national time always comes to mind), so it's good to see such quality race riding on a day like today with the ground as it is.

Manshoor is interesting at 14/1 in the next at Lingfield. Great record at Lingfield and at the trip. Fit. Good claimer. The ground may find him out but at a price in a race where I think the favourites are vulnerable I will take a chance.

I can't see too many people being put out by this news. I have taken to recording Southwell and then watching it back with the fast forward on x2 as it's like watching a normal race. Come May you will find one or two trainers taking their big hopes for a gallop at Lingfield turf track to see if they will cope with Tattenham corner in the Derby. A similar thing happnes with Southwell and you can sometimes find a trainer driving in front of his horse whilst it is ridden along Blackpool beach, the trainer drives in front throwing sand back in the horses face.

Strong finish by S Twiston-Davies on Seedsman to just get the better of AP on Doormouse.

The Lingfield AW track is a lovely surface installed by Martin Collins who has been well respected in the show jumping arena for some time. Should attract a better class of horse.

Lingfield and kempton are pretty good, even Wolverhampton is raceable.

Well Refreshed falls. Piss poor ride from Joshua Moore anyway and wouldn't have beaten Pete the Feat.

One winner out of the seven races, is a rubbish strike rate, but 15/2 is not a bad price <ok>

Interesting to see dual G3 winner Poet entered for the Novice Hurdle at Newbury on Thursday. What a pedigree he has.

There has to be a doubt about him staying, being a Pivotal..there is plenty of stamina on his distaff side though.

    Timmy Murphy booked.

John Francombe has mentioned Poet on the Morning Line. He flagged up the staying issue as well but said they think he'll be okay.

**** me lads reading through those breakfast suggestions almost gave me a hunger erection. I imagine thats what he gets on that Man versus food?

Oddy you are most welcome to the spotlight for the next episode, but dont bust your balls over it- if you get a spare half hour to yourself with a bottle of the finest German beer then by all means, but if not dont worry :) i did think you might fancy a writeup though.

just finished watching the replays. that was a nice straighforward day, handful of favourites winning. i don't much like betting to win and generally pick an ew horse, if it wins that's a bonus. i see why somerby was 100/1, always likes to be at the back of the pack at the end

bostonbob well done on de la bech. it was 5/1 when i saw it last night and therefore the only one with decent ew odds that had a chance. good shout <ok>
