So apparently we are selling Oli in January (who would buy him?) and we are getting Fabrizio Miccoli on a six month loan. Why they would loan him away I dont know. Got to love foorball rumours.
Well selling Oli would make sense, but Miccoli wouldn't leave Palermo, not to come on a six month loan to us, at his age he'd probably want to stay in Italy and finish his career. Decent goal scoring scoring record though. I've heard we are in (well, I know we are in but you have to say it don't you) for Fraizer Campbell, but I don't know in what capacity, I'd suspect a loan with a view to a summer move. I also heard they're looking at a deal to make Elmo a permanent.
all this hype about Fraizer Campbell begs the questions, when was the last time he played and why hasn't he played? Two major knee operations and all that!!!
Wouldnt even think about Campbell. He is clearly not the player he was and is struggling with that knee. Why would a club with promotion ambitions want to take a massive risk on him. Havnt we learned a lesson with glass knees jb ffs?
Miccoli has scored five in twelve appearances this season(most, if not all games) and his last game was last Saturday, so it sounds like nonsense. Campbell has played eight times this season, his last game was Nov 3rd against Villa. He's not been injured, he's been on the bench for the games he hasn't played in, O'Neil simply doesn't rate him. I've also been told be several people that he's on his way in January.
The thing about Campbell is he is playing at a team who are struggling, but have three better strikers(sessengon included even though he plays in behind) Saha and Fletcher are always going to be difficult to get infront of, but if he did leave I feel there would be several PL teams interested.
Miccoli? Sounds like somebody trying to get some fans' hopes up, as does Campbell really, as possible as it might be. Signing Elmo on a permanent basis will probably happen though, as will the imminent departure of Oli.
You have to love Football rumours. Always good for a laugh at the nonsense that goes up on there. Agree with both. NEVER AGAIN DO I WANT TO SEE THAT WASTE OF SPACE IN A HULL CITY SHIRT. Everybody has been told FC is coming back. That makes me think he wont be. Huddersfield look favourites imo. I would rather have George Boyd than Campbell. Leave the past in the past ffs.
I'd take Campbell back. Yeah he was good in the past, but a partnership of him and Aluko definitely looks lethal. The Miccoli rumour is laughable and we won't sell Oli... We'll have to wait 'till his contract expires. Either that or he takes a massive wage cut should a team actually be interested in him in January. We nearly offloaded him to Cardiff before, but he got injured
Dont be surprised to see Dave Jones @ the Wendies take Oli in Jan as he had him @ Cardiff City as you mentioned. But Oli owes Hull City big time and on much lower wages i would keep him.
The thing with the Miccoli rumour is that I just don't see Bruce going for a player from the continent, especially as he will cost a few million - after Prozzy I don't think he'd take the chance. He may tear this league apart, but we will probably never know, as it won't happen.
I wouldn't keep him if he offered to play for free. He's played 36 games in 3 years and he was ****e in about 35 of them and he's already cost us about £7.5m.
My pal, who is a Sunderland fan, says he's heard nothing connecting either Campbell or Elmo with us. But he does say that it's believed they are both on their way out of MON's squad. Elmo is not keen on dropping out of the Prem, but he thinks playing regularly might make a big difference to that....
We all know who is to blame for that. THE DUFFERMAN. Oli on low wages can be a good player for us. Fingers crossed he is just passing through mind on his way to another club. Never again on the soup boy or his dad.
I don't see Campbell getting another Prem club, he'll have to look at the Championship (and mainly us, of course). Elmo is understandable, he is a good player and probably could do a job for one of the mid-to-lower-table Prem clubs, like Villa or Wigan. He could probably still do a job at Sunderland, but MON clearly doesnt rate him ahead of Bardsley.
I don't get how that's an issue now. The Allams seem content to bankroll a promotion push - so really Oli's wages are irrelevant - while I'd rather we weren't overpaying players, it's not a threat to our existence like it was in 2010. Like OLM has said, he had been consistently poor. I couldn't care less how little he agrees to play for - he's not making the grade. If he agreed to play for a pound - he would still be as rubbish as he was on Saturday. Meyler, Evans, Cairney and McKenna should all be above him in the pecking order from the current squad.
Oli on low wages would be the same very average player, he would just cost less! You think he would play better on lower wages?
