Leeds are ready to reward El Hadji Diouf with a new contract that will put him among the top earners at the club. The 31-year-old, who has impressed at Elland Road but is out of contract in January, met the club’s new owners on Saturday. His agent Willie McKay said: ‘We have spoken to the chief executive Shaun Harvey and we hope to have something sorted soon. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2238894/El-Hadji-Diouf-sign-new-Leeds-deal.html Well, I think that is the most ****ing stupid thing we could do but I'm sure some on here will be excited
Josh, I've never been a great fan of his, but to be honest, he's probably provided about 80% of our creative spark this season, and holds the ball up better than anyone on our books. And he's done it on crap wages. He could have got money elsewhere, but chose us. I think he deserves a reward. Just as long as it's not a 4 year deal, or something daft like that ....
I disagree, lets take away the fact that he's a whining little **** who ****ing spits at people and laughs at em when they broke there leg and look at his play He's incredibly slow, whenever we are starting to attack with any sort of pace about us he gets the ball and instantly slows everything down because he needs to take 30 touches before doing anything. He is incapable of playing 2 touch football I believe, he rarely passes the ball and more often than not tries to walk around someone before them tackling him and him diving to try and win a free-kick, the fact that he wins so many freekicks bothers me because it shows how soft the game is at the moment. He has scored 4 goals in 17 appearances which I don't think is anywhere near good enough for a striker. And before you tell me, he isn't a goalscoring player and thats not why he's here, why didn't we sign Keogh? because he didn't score enough goals So if he isn't a goalscorer, then he is a provider? No, he has 3 assists for his 17 appearances this season. A truly horrible stat for someone who is supposedly creative. We have struggled to score whilst he has been in the team because he is a selfish styled player. Tell me where he fits into the team once McCormack is fit as well because I highly highly doubt anyone is going to pretend he is better than McCormack which means that if he truly is going to be on one of the biggest wages, he will be sitting on the bench for the rest of the seasons do jack **** earning a fortune on a name he made for himself 10 years ago. The guy is not fit to where the white shirt for so many reasons
he hasnt played upfront that often for us. Been player of season so far for us, without doubt. What more disgusting is becchio is our top earner, and he cant trap a ****ing ball, and has been garbage all season. if diouf had of taken the pens, he'd be the top scorer, not donkey bechhio. THe best defender ive seen against us this season, is becchio, because the amount of times he stops our attacks by poor control and awful passing is unbelieveable. Rubbish article by someone who cant have seen many games this season
Josh you can tell you don't go much, he's not only our best player he's an entertainer too he loves the fans and the opposition hate playing against him Becchio is on 10k a week I wouldn't pay him half of that
Liw Truly awful tbh although he was decent on Saturday, Becchio backs into defenders which prevents him from jumping to win headers which then means he dives for a free kick. Also when defending he basically rugby tackles opponents in the box! Whenever he does manage to get the ball down on the floor he ****s himself n passes it to a centre back who then lose it lol
agree with previous two. becccho awful this season but that's not the main topic. Delighted Diouf getting a new contract and deserves it. Would you lot prefer we let him go? Then you could whinge new owners showing no intent and bates still in charge. This is like a third signing since gfh arrived
eire I always believe in rewarding people who do well, its how you get the best out of people. Does Diouf deserve a contract and a good wage. Without DOUBT
still not sure abour Diouff, I fear he may still show things we#d rather not see. But I am in cup half full mode all week, so I am going to see this as evidence the new owners are indeed going to spend more than the Bates could. So its good. probably.
Josh, Diouf was outstanding on Saturday, his link up play with Thomas in particular was superb, flicking the ball on to send Thomas clean through being just one example. He doesn't slow up our attacks, up till now he's had to hold the ball up as there's been no one running into space for him to pass to. Now with Thomas in there and McCormack on the way back he's got more outlets, and more players on his wavelength
Tell you one thing, if people believe we should let Diouf go, we might as well get rid of rest of squad as well
Granted I haven't seen him as often as others but I haven't seen/heard anything good from him since the Everton game. Seems to spend all game moaning and diving and then puts about one decent cross in and seems to think that's job done. If Becchio had missed half as many tap ins as Diouf you'd be calling for him to be sold.
Simon, Josh, you really do have to see him in the flesh. TV doesn't do him justice. His off the ball running is suberb, and he's always available to take the ball. His hold up play is excellent: not just holding & praying that someone makes themselves available for a pass, but also taking it for a wee meander to frustrate the opposition. He's everywhere! TV only follows the ball, so you never get to see the full picture (if you'll pardon the pun). I wasn't at all keen on signing him at the beginning of the season, but I take it all back. He produces the goods, and if you do that, you're entitled to be amply rewarded. I have to say on Saturday that I thought he was partly responsible for Thomas's great showing - he made a lot of space for him & played him in really well. The defenders didn't know who to double up on when they were both on the wing. They created chaos. Knowing my luck, he'll be absolute shiite for the remainder of the season, now that I've given him a glowing report.
I can't deny he has an extra touch of class about him, but so far I don't think he's been doing enough with it. Although I think if Colin's going to play him it should be between midfield and attack.
Good ol' Dioufy, class act. Always knew he'd be a star for us And Becchio about to get into the top 10 goalscorers of all time for LUFC - can't complain about that. His forte is not playing football - neither was Chapman's - you have to play to his strengths. He frustrated the hell out of me at times because he traps the ball further than I can kick it, but play to his strengths and he is phenomenal . Hopefully we have the players to do that now
that turned against Becchio very quickly (not that I don't agree, he can't ****ing trap a ball and he is top earner). And just to point out the article was informative to him signing a new contract not me having a go at Diouf, that happened from me responding to someone. Anyway, as I said I knew some people would be delighted with this.... Ok, well when I have seen him then he must play as bad as he can just because I'm watching. Not only this when I have seen him play I thought he was woeful and everyone else is talking about how amazing he played. So then I kinda take everyone's views from other games with a pinch of salt because I have seen people talk him up when imo he hasn't played that well. Just my opinion of course and I can clearly see I am in the minority
