Was anybody listening to the introduction they gave him? I was convinced at the time they introduced him by saying he was just 4 years younger than the club having celebrated his 100th birthday recently, only I'm now doubting myself because nobody has been complaining about the fat DJ getting his numbers wrong (which definitely did carry on when he got onto the half-season tickets). Was it my imagination, or was it just that nobody on here was listening when he said it?
In the East Stand it's impossible to hear a word of what's been said. In addition, the buffoon with the mike thinks he's doing live radio and speaks far too fast for a stadium PA. Result? No one listens and and people talk among themselves.
It's perfectly set for where we're sat (just in front of where the Director's Box would be if it were in the East Stand rather than the West).
According to the club, the PA issues in the East stand are a right old mystery. Apparently they've tested it in midweek and it works fine, but only ****s up when the place gets full, due to some weird acoustic issue which they can't quite pinpoint. There has been no money set aside for maintenance of the stadium since it opened so the club are paying the price now and as a result, don't want to spend large amounts on things like the PA system and general upkeep.
I'm in E4 - and I can't make out a word now. But I don't ever remember it being that bad in the past. Seemed to work fine in previous season. I didn't even realise who the guy was until it was all over.
Did anyone see Cameron Stewart @ the game on saturday ? He appeared with a split personality it seams. Part of him was No.7 for Hull City and Part of him No.19 for Burnley. Well at least on the back of the match programme he was. I like the way some clubs do the team listings for the players out on loan. They are removed from the main list and shown seperately at the bottom and whom they are on loan to. Just saying like.
The weird acoustic issue is that sound bounces off regularly shaped concrete and hard plastic differently to how it bounces off fleshy things like people that are making a bobbley surface.
